does praying makes up for all your mistakes?

what is the meaning of prayer. if someone make a mistake or a error and do the prayer does it balance. i believe a prayer is for giving strength not to make mistake.

For me, praying is talking to my God. It is communicating with him the way I know it. I pray not only to be forgiven from my sins but to just really tell all the things I wanted to tell to my God and my Father. I consulted Him in my prayer, I confide in Him and or just freely talks what's on my mind, what's bothers me and cast all my cares upon Him. This are the things I usually says in my prayer. And praying to make up for my mistakes? I guess it is already included...

very well said rimrick.. And to add a bit. Praying helps us in building a good relationship with our Father in heaven. Thru prayer, we can come to the father through our Lord Jesus and simply talk to him. Not just when we feel like praying, but we have to pray with out ceasing. You know when we say Thank you Lord for this beautiful day, it is already a prayer. When we say, Help me God, it is already a prayer. In everything we do and say, and do it with a simple prayer, it will work. You can try it. It's a good thing to always talk to our Lord and God. It will renew our spirit every day... And will clean our heart and or thoughts. have a nice day...

Prayer is the act of communicating with our God. It is not for a single purpose and also you do not need a purpose to pray to god. And definetely it is not to make up for our mistakes. We are all humans and have sinned. It is our duty to ask God for forgiveness for the same but it is also our duty as chritians and believers of God to not keep repeating the sins.
Prayer is about Thanking God for his Love, Care and Mercy
Prayer is about asking God for forgiveness for our sins
Prayer is about asking God for his Love in our lives.
Prayer is about asking God to supply for our needs
Prayer is about asking God to protect us and our fellow human beings
And the list goes on....

No, Preying does not make up for your mistakes. Faith in Christ and God makes up for your mistakes, past Present and future.

Prayer does not makes up for your mistakes. I pray for forgiveness of my sins that I do knowingly or unknowingly. The bible says that we should pray without ceasing. It is a communication that we used when we are talking to God. Some persons only used when they are confessing or asking a favour from God but we should sometimes just pray and worship him. God love adoration and this is were praying come in. It was the other day that I realized that there is a formula to used when praying it is
ACTS. A - Acknowledgement - You acknowledge God and his wonderful works. Confession - You confess your sins. Thanksgiving - You give thanks for all that God has done and will be doing. Supplication - becomes humble and this is were you end your prayer.
In the christian faith there is so much to learn. I see where pray has been changing my life so I would not say that it is to make up for all the mistakes that I have done.
