Does anybody own a gel fireplace?

I've had a gel fireplace for about a year and I was just wondering if anybody else has one, or any other type of non-traditional decorative fireplace?

We have a real wood burning fireplace in the living room and we have a wood burning stove down here in the basement family room. The one in the living room rarely gets used, but the wood burner gets used fairly often in the winter.

My husband has a wood stove in the garage. I was thinking with the cost of fuel that maybe we should get one for the living room and heat the whole house that way, but I already have the gel fireplace and I like it for its looks and hate to put a wood stove in there too. Gel fireplaces provide a small amount of extra heat, but not nearly enough for primary heating.

I just bought a wall mounted one for my hubby. It is still in the box it was shipped in. With a new baby on the way we haven't set it up yet. Hope you are enjoying yours.

They're really nice and I think you and your husband will like yours. The problem is the gel is really expensive, but there are alternatives to that. Good luck with yours and with your baby!
