I was working on a virus issue yesterday and today, phoned the 'Help Desk' for support, I was told that for $99.00, they could have a tech connect to my system and clean this "VIRUS/MALWARE"; I was shocked.. 99 bucks? We (enterprise) have already paid for this program to "protect" our company; now they are telling me that a product we purchased with Enterprise License (over 4 grand)is not supported for virus attack... HMMM? Sound strange? This is a virus protection software packge, I was not happy, to say the least. It did phone M$, and guess what? They (M$) id remedy the situation, a few questions asked, but no biggie. M$ has for the second time proved to me that they DO in fact stand behind their product, and I am sorry they get such a bad rap. M$ was there for me when the "Popular" AV software support was not... Kudos M$!

It does rot, but they want to make money that simple. You might not have been willing to pay the $99 but someone else probably did so that is why they keep on saying pay and we'll help despite as you said that it should be provided in the initial cost that you paid! I was on the phone with help desk support for my PC one time, and following THAT person's instructions (i was getting frequent blue screens to the point i couldnt work) my computer completely crashed, trying to start up i got something along the lines that a critical windows file was deleted. Was told to dish out money for them to remedy what they did! I was beyond furious... i told the guy ok so my following YOUR instructions made it worse and YOU want ME to pay extra?! I already paid money for the warranty so i wouldn't be paying extras... i tried to keep cool and requested to speak to the manager. I explained the situation and after much getting passed around they said they'll fix it no charge just to drop off my computer at a certified computer repair shop (they gave me the address to a place that was close to me)... People will always try to con you, even when clearly you already did what you are supposed to do, pay for the product, pay for warranties, but they still will try to scam you out of more money. This issue i had was with HP, which is why i HATE them now lol. Compaq or Dell all the way for me now.
