what are the best discussions?

Ok so I try to start good discussions on mylot where a lot of people will get involved and have an opinion. Some discussions I've started are big hits while others get little or no attention. So my question to you is, from experience what do you think are the best discussions? What discussions do you look for to respond to? which types do you ignore?

when I first started discussion, I was not that successful as well. From my point of view, people are more interested in day-to-day happening such as giving ideas, advices.. Such as what's your topic is about now. I believe you'll get good response from here. Hope you be successful in your lotting.. Good luck and cheers

Same here basically.
I love reading and responding to other members discussions that are from other countries as I learn a lot abouit their culture, beliefs and lives in general. A very educational experience doing this I feel.

To me I like to answer general discussions because it is easier for me to give answers. I will try to answer personal and private questions if I think I am able to answer it.
For example if the person is asking about a scientific fact which I do not know about, I would not answer it because I don't like to give fake answers. Everything that we do in here will be read by millions of people all over the world. So it is better for me to stick to the questions in which I can really answer and give my opinion, so that it can give benefits to all readers.

I think for you to be able to get responses of your discussion, you must first be yourself. Second, discuss on matter everybody can participate and be detailed in as much as you can. If you would like others to answer a certain topic, well share first you own view, so they will have a focus on what to answer, or they can comment on what your experiences and views are. Third, well maybe you need to be a responsible with those discussions you started, try to reply every comments you receive whenever you can, that would also help for the discussion to be on top of the page again. Well because of the population mylot has, it is hard for us to see every discussions submitted. So we also need to choose the time when we submit our discussions. I notice, when I submit a discussions for my co-Filipinos and it is already around 10:00, it didn't have any response, maybe because my co-Filipinos are already sleeping at that time.
