Ok, not really. But it is hard not to laugh at a C grader and his inablity to speak in public effectively. This is the same reason we loved other political figures of the past on both sides of the aisle, but George Bush was the President and will be leaving us with some good ones. 2008 "The economy is growing, productivity is high, trade is up, people are working. It's not as good as we'd like, but -- and to the extent that we find weakness, we'll move." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., July 15, 2008 (really George?) "Throughout our history, the words of the Declaration have inspired immigrants from around the world to set sail to our shores. These immigrants have helped transform 13 small colonies into a great and growing nation of more than 300 people." --George W. Bush, Charlottesville, Va., July 4, 2008 "And so the fact that they purchased the machine meant somebody had to make the machine. And when somebody makes a machine, it means there's jobs at the machine-making place." --George W. Bush, Mesa, Arizona, May 27, 2008 "I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008 "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Feb. 28, 2008 From the past 8 years in office top 20 20. "Those who enter the country illegally violate the law." - Nov. 28, 2005 19. "We don't believe in planners and deciders making the decisions on behalf of Americans." - Sept. 6, 2000 18. "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." - Dec. 19, 2000 17. "Well, I think if you say you're going to do something and don't do it, that's trustworthiness." - Aug. 30, 2000 16. "I think we agree, the past is over." - May 10, 2000 15. "I understand small business growth. I was one." - Feb. 19, 2000 14. "This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating." - April 23, 2002 13. "I want everybody to hear loud and clear that I'm going to be the president of everybody." - Jan. 18, 2001 12. "One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures." - Jan. 3, 2000 11. "I was proud the other day when both Republicans and Democrats stood with me in the Rose Garden to announce their support for a clear statement of purpose: you disarm, or we will." - Oct. 5, 2002 10. "I just want you to know that when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace." - June 18, 2002 9. "I'm honored to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi citizen who had his hand cut off by Saddam Hussein." - May 25, 2004 8. "I firmly believe the death tax is good for people from all walks of life all throughout our society." - Aug. 13, 2002 7. "There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." - Sept. 17, 2002 6. "The truth of that matter is, if you listen carefully, Saddam would still be in power if he were the president of the United States, and the world would be a lot better off." - Oct. 8, 2004 5. "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." - Sept. 29, 2000 4. "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." - Aug. 5, 2004 3. "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" - Jan. 11, 2000 2. "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." - Jan. 27, 2000 1. "They misunderestimated me." - Nov. 6, 2000

That is pretty funny, ESL classes for Texans. Maybe. But you know I don't think he is actually Texan entirely so maybe that is the problem. I think he is maybe just shy on the inside and all this public adulation gets him flustered.

These are priceless. I'm a bookseller and #12 is going on the bulletin board in my office. Thanks for the levity. These political threads have been getting a little tense lately. Apparently, not everyone on Mylot is as excited about our wonderful new presidency as I am. LOL

I view it is a change that is important for the country to accept and if not embrace at least be open to initially. I think as a nation it was time to open the doors for change from the old guard to the new. Will this new President live up to all of the expectations that we have for him? Who really knows, he is burdened with many and I am not sure that any man could deliver what he is expected to deliver. Nevertheless, he is at least a new face and new blood to a White House and a Washington that has seen 20 years of Bush's and Clinton's in the highest office of the land, time for the new. Time to sweep the cobwebs out.

LOL... a cathartic experience I'm sure. I love this sort of thing. Hope to see more of same in the future. I admit I could not top these with a similar list concerning anyone, unless that person was delibrately trying to be funny.

Yeah, they are funny. It is a list from one of the political sites on-line that collects them. They have many others. But I followed your advice and must admit it was slightly catharic. There are several others as I said from both sides of the aisle. I could do this all day going back and forth across the dems and repubs and never run out of material I think. They are such jokesters.

The politicans of the USA of both parties richly deserve to be ridiculed. They can't even balance a budget, for pete's sake!

Do you think they actually know what a budget is? I think this is questionable at best. I think they all need to take some lessons from some of the more reasonable people of this country. Watched a interview with Arnold S., Gov of California the other day which I was surprisingly impressed by. While I am usually not his biggest fan, in part because of the problems in that state; he actually impressed me a great deal with his ability to cut to the problems and discuss middle ground. Ah for more like him. Get of the rhetoric bandwagon! Get off the platforms and seek solutions....please.

I know this is meant to be a pure Bash Bush thread like so many others so I'll try to make this brief and allow the close minded liberals to have at it. First, When Bush joked about being a C Student, it was a joke. He earned his MBA at Harvard. Now I don't know what level of education you've achieved, but Masters programs do not accept C's. Even the lowest programs will only accept 2 provided that you maintain a GPA above 3.0. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Harvard probably has higher standards. Second, while I know he has political connections, Harvard doesn't generally accept C Students. There are valedictorians who don't get in. Finally, You plagiarized someone else's work and provided no citations to prove these quotes. While I am familiar with several of them, many are snippets taken out of context.

Do get over yourself. It is meant as a joke. It is meant to be funny. It is meant to have fun and poke fun. In fact George Bush was a C Grader. Before going to Harvard he applied but was rejected by the University of Texas Law School. He got into a Harvard MBA program based on his political connections. He has never made a secret of this. http://www.eduinreview.com/blog/2008/10/college-transcripts-of-george-w-bush-show-c-average/ http://2004.georgewbush.org/bios/yale-transcript.asp Just to give you something to chew on - I have a Bachelor of Science with a double major and a Masters. I am starting to hunt around for the right Ph.D program having already been accepted into one program at University of Texas. Yeah I know all about how "real" people get accepted into schools and just how hard it is. But these qualifications don't apply to those with connections that include pulling strings. All that I posted are readily available all over the internet. It is not plagarism if it is public property only if it is copywritten. I know the rules quite well. Again try to get over it. I am hardly close minded, barely liberal as a matter of fact.

Ivaldean, we all KNOW that Taskr thinks that everyone here EXCEPT him is either ignorant, stupid, lazy, and has no idea what they are talking about, etc. (according to statements in other threads)

This guy is like the reincarnation of Dan Quayle. I wonder if he can spell potato? Seriously though as dumb as he comes across in the public I do not believe he was a dummy. He is a conniving devil at the least, and has a poor ability when it comes to public speaking. I think he is a genius as when he retires from Presidency he will be ultra rich from oil profits his fathers company in Saudi Arabia have earned due to his actions in the Middle East. Like he is leaving his $400,000 a year job to $400 billion. Pretty good deal I think. How dumb is he? "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

Here is the thing with Bush, really he is brilliant. He made a career at failure. He made a fortune at being a failure. He became President of the United States of America because people thought he would be fun to sit out back and eat Ribs with. Classic

I can't either. There will certainly be gaffes. I don't know that Barack will make as many as Joe will but there are bound to be some. Politicians can't help themselves.

I can't decide which of these is my favorite Bushism! Every time I hear the them song for CSI Miami ("Won't Get Fooled Again") I can hear and see Bush do that "Fool me once..." bit. You forgot the one about the OB/GYN's not getting to practice their love all around the country. THAT was priceless! David Letterman will really miss him; what will he replace the "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches" with? Then there's the D1ck Cheney - that's a whole other discussion...lol! Annie

There are many many more. I just picked some favorites. As to what the next years will bring, more of the same but different. I somehow think we will get more funnies from the VP though.
