1)Dyanchand in hockey
2)Sachin Tendulkar in cricket
3)Vishwanathan Anand for chess

That's a tough question because all of them have given India so much that we cannot say the best out of them. Yes, but I can say you that my favourite out of them is Sachin Tendulkar. Although I like all sports, but I like Sachin Tendulkar more.
Other nominees I can suggest you are:
1) Abhinav Bindra in Shooting
2) Kapil Dev & Sunil Gavaskar in cricket
3) Jeev Milkha Singh in Golf
