Do you ever notice who your real friends are when your sick? Well, I do I mean I have been off mylot for almost a week, because I have the flu and boy am I sick!!! But, not one person sent me a message asking where I am or how am I doing? Did you all forget me? Or, is it just me being sick that my emotions are running wild? I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I am just saying it would have been nice if I would have got at least one message saying, "Are you o.k.?" Have we gotten so busy now a days that we do not even notice the absents of others? Stop for a minute and think of the people who where in your life say five years ago. Now, think of where they are now. Do you still say, "Hi, How are you doing today?" Or, have you just left them behind? Are friends so plentiful that you can get new ones every time you change a part of your life? Think about it! No, I mean really think about it!!! Have friends just become a "Hobbie"?

Don't worry your too ornery to stay sick for long...that's what Mom tells me 
On the other side of your discussion...most ppl don't know each other on MyLot except on MyLot. They don't keep track of how often their online or on MyLot and whether or not they're gone for a few days. Don't take it personally and get grouchy about it. Heck, I'm your cuz and I didn't know you were sick. I bet you don't know when I'm sick either, right?
Anyways, drink some OJ, watch movies, and ignore the kids...you'll be back to normal in no time.

I had not realised you were sick Carpathian. I hope you're feeling better.
I have gotten busy over the holidays since taking up more hours at my part time job and do often forget about friends I have gotten to know online and offline. I know they have also forgotten about me but I don't let it bother me because I know life can be busy and challenging at times that they also forget to keep in touch with me.
I don't really know you as I've just added you today. Until I get to know the person more then I may on occasion send them an email to see how they're doing. Usually when they post discussions and tell me, then I usually respond that way.
I'm not sure how many friends I have on my list here in mylot and other social networking sites, but it can become a lot of work trying to keep in touch with them all.

Not yet I can make friedship with you. It's true that all lotters are friends.Neither you nor me ask for formal frienship.It's my first contect with you.I'm very sorry that you were sick for a week.Happy to learn that you are now okey.Hope we will meet again.Thank you.

hi carpathian! i am new here but i see where you are coming from when out sick and thinking no one knows, cares, or even notices. i have been out of work now for a little over 2 months and yes, many people have kept up with me and my progress. alot of people whom i thought would keep up with me have not for one reason or another. one thing i have learned is that you can not control other peoples actions nor their lack of reaction in certain cases. and yes, this is an extremely busy world we live in and many people are caught up in their lives only but you can't fault them for that. that is the life and times we live in now. so, in answer to your question perhaps friends have become "hobbies" but just like any other hobby if you are interested you have to keep up with it!

The same things happen in my life.When i was in college friends used to keep calling
.We also used to meet for special functions and birthdays.Now everybody are working.When i was sick they didn't remember me.They say we were busy or we had no time.Now i don't keep thinking about my friends.I move along with my work.If there's a friend who emailed or called me.I would call that friend back.

I'm sorry to hear that you have been ill and yes, it's nice to hear from your friends, especially when you are ill. I have a very good friend who is suffering with cancer right now and he is bedridden at his mother's place. I visit him on a regular basis. He mentioned to me though that he had not had a visit from someone who he thought was a very good friend. He mentioned to me that he would no longer be classing him as a friend. I guess you really learn who your friends are when it comes to times like this. Support from your friends can really help to pick you up when you are feeling low and sick. Still, I hope that you are feeling better now. Andrew

hope you're feeling better...
i have more than a hundred of friends here in mylot and 2 of them are my sisters... at times i dont even know what's happening with them... and vice versa...
but if in case, we really need something to tell to each other, we call each other through phone...or we could send private messages here if we really wanted to know about anyone...
dont be sad... it's a part of our life specially when we're sick, that we feel very emotional...i always do feel like that, even when im not sick...
but still we're glad you've opened this discussion...

hi Carpathian..im sorry if u feel that way. i dont know bout u or other ppl very well in here, thats why i never notice when some1 is missing in here in mylot for a few days or weeks. its a bit different in mylot n in hi5 for me. i have so many great friends in hi5, whom i feel so close eventho we havent met for real. when some1 is missing for day, me n other friends will lookin for him/her n ask how is she/he n why they're missing. it felt so real with them my friends in hi5, but sadly..im sorry carpathian, i cant feel it in here..=(
i do hope u'll find a real friend who can treat u like that n worried bout each other when one of u is missing..

I hate my friends because I thought they were my real friends.. I've helped them both and last night when I was here on the internet cafe and doing friendster and mylot that certain friend texted me and saying that I should stop my boyfriend because he was texting them,... well I tried to stop them all because I was annoyed and that because we still have problems goin on with my family,.. which just grew worst and worst and they had to call me useless, backstabber etc etc... well now I hate them,.. I wish that they'll just die and I wish that I've never met them,.. I've never done wrong they were the one's who always argue and now they're mad at me for telling the truth!! Screw Them!!

Hopefully you are feeling better. I just figure that if my friends aren't on here for a while, life has happened and they are just too busy at this time to get on. Most of the time if something important is happening or is someone is really sick , you will see them post it here.
Well...get better and take some vitamin C.

i am so sorry u are sick & feeling neglected & i don't blame you. i'm sure everyone is just me when they get a message from somone they just asswer & when they don't they don't think about anything being wrong. i go for weeks & don't get anything from people on my friend's list. hope u are feeling better. take care & get well soon.

Welcome back my dear and I am glad that you have recover from the flu. Now I have friends that I would call and see how they are. If you are talking about friends here in MYLOT remember some of them you have just met and although the Friendlist is there you have to take time in building that communication. It is sad though that no one on your friendlist has written to see how you are doing. Remember MYLOT is a Social Network and if you don't have friends here who provide their private information to you then you are only friends through MYLOT and nothing else. One should also remember that people here tends to take days off and even year off.
