I had my fourth c-section 5 weeks ago. I am still feeling numbness in my right leg. I told my doctor before I left the hospital, and he said it was normal for the first 2 weeks. Well, its been five weeks and not only does my thigh numb out, like if it is asleep, but my whole leg weakens out. Because of this I have almost fallen over and I am having difficulties driving. I a scared to carry my infant and walk around. Has anyone else felt this after delivering their baby? Does anyone know if this is normal? I had such a difficult pregnancy that I feel that if i call my doctor about this he will really think I am a pain or going crazy!!!

i've had two c-sections but have never tried numbness after an operation. i think you have to go to your ob to have yourself checked. if you're not confident with your ob's advise then maybe ask for a second opinion from other doctors. i personally don't think that's normal

Congrats for bravely facing the world. I wish you be fully fit and fine for the sake of the little babies you brought into this world by the grace of God. Anything out of the way, especially in a case like yours shoul;d not have been trivialised by your doctor. Please see another gynaec immediately.

I've had two c-sections. First, numbness at the site of incision is normal (even up to 2 to 3 years or more after the c-section) but numbness in the leg at any point is not a normal symptom. From experience, it seems you have nerve damage that may be affecting your ability to walk, stand and sit. It's affecting your balance. I would be either going back and pushing the issue with the doctor or seeking a second opinion and immediately.
If something is affecting your quality of life it's time to go see a medical professional for answers and if that medical professional is refusing your concerns or minimalizing them you should be seeking a second opinion from a more qualified medical professional.

I would get a second opinion and change doctors. If you are afraid to ask your doctor questions, that's a sign he's not the right doc for you... ya know? You should feel comfortable enough that you shouldn't have to stress over whether he'll think you're crazy. AND you are NOT crazy! Even my incisions never felt THAT bad after 5 weeks. I've had two c-sections. Best wishes to you ... CALL A DIFFERENT DOC. :-)
