People are just ignorant and self-centered. Most theaters have "reminders" before the movie begins to silence your cell phones. I'm sorry, but as expensive as movies are today, you better believe I am turning my phone off so I can enjoy what I spent my hard earned money on!!
What really strikes a nerve with me is when they actually answer the phone and they are practically screaming over the movie! If the call is that important and you must answer your phone, at least have the common courtesy to get up and walk out of the theater! Geez!

I hate people with their cell phones at movies. If I make the huge slurge to go to the thearter to see a movie, I want to watch without listen to someone's conversation. I do not care if you text during a movie as long as it is on vibrate or on silent so I cannot hear you getting a text. No big deal to me. But some people do not have the common curitsy to do that.

Most theaters if you tell the theater manager about it will worn the person. You know hey this guy just complained about you now hes also pissed at you. Then if you complain again then they will usually ask the person to leave. The reason around her they do that is they want to try to keep the person a customer, but would rather lose 1 customer than loose the whole theater as a customer.

I feel if people should have the courtesy to put their phone on silence at least when at the movies. It is so rude to have it going off in the middle of the movies. Even putting the phone on vibrate is annoying sometimes when it goes off. I just think it's common sense and common courtesy to just have the ringer off. At least the person won't miss a call and call get back to the person later.

Yeah but the problem with that is if you goto the theather with your kids and you sit by the isle to be able to take them to the bathroom and the person keeps getting up every 15-20 minutes making you and the kids have to move every time it still distracts from the movie.
