Do you ever "people watch"? That's where you sit back, and just observe people. Look at how they act, behave, look, what their mannerisms are. Try to guess what type of people they are, what kind of music they like, what they do for a living, how they talk. I do. I like to play this little game called "Find the celebrity" that's where I find as many people as I can that look like someone famous. I also add a little story with it. I imagine what they are thinking by their actions or facial expressions, and give them a voice. Like if the person looks like Gary Coleman , and they're shopping for I don't know....um... bananas.. I would say
"Man good thing bananas are so cheap. Being a security guard really doesn't pay that well. Man I love bananas. Crap. I can't reach. Why do they put everything so high up? ohhh oh crap what's that? Damn! Someone farted! Oh man...you think know one knows? Oh I'm just going to walk by, and let off a little silent killer, no one will know! Gary coleman knows! Crap I'm choking on butt fumes! AAAAAAAa I'm angry! Oh hey look... they have stuff on the bottom shelf. Now I'm happy."
So what about you? Do you people watch? How do you people watch? what have you observed about people that you find interesting?

Hi redhotpogo, I like watching people around as well as the persons who are entertain the customers at the counter doing while waiting in the queue at the bank, post office or hotel lobby, airport and etc.
Some staffs behave quite polite and serve the customers well. Sometimes I notice that there is one or two who are not responsible and would keep on chatting with their colleagues and doing her job too leisurely and are never aware of the customers in the queue are waiting impatiently.
Once I had seen someone sitting in the waiting chair in front of the counter is engrossed in digging gold out from his nose and it is really awful and offensive. The most enjoyable thing is to watch the innocent kids having fun at the children playing ground. We could find lots of fun as well to watch people buying things at the market, hypermarket and ...
Happy posting and have a nice day.

Well, from the responses you received in this topic we know that not only you and me, and there are still many people enjoy People Watch” as well. so we have to behave ourselves very nicely all the time when staying outside, especially in the public. I’m quite sure that there definitely will have people who have the same interest as us somewhere around, enjoying to have the fun to see our little indecent action or gesture to kill their bored time. Hopefully they don't capture the "precious moment" and to let it to appear in the web
Take care and good luck.

lol its always fun to catch people in embarrassing moments. Events they think no one saw. Like when they trip, and catch themselves real quick, and look around to make sure no one saw...but you saw it. muahahhahahhaa. Thanks for commenting. take care.

I love people watching! I took a class one time that was about body language and self awareness and that mad people watching even more interesting to me. I generally watch reactions and composure. You can get a lot about them from their body language.

I never found body language to be that reliable. People can lie with body language just as easily as they can with their own mouths.

I agree they can and often times you only get to see what they want you to unless your people watching and they don't realize it.
You'd have to be actually talking to someone for this to be significant but I watched a show one time about pupil dilation. Our pupils automatically retract when we look at something we are not fond of and get larger when we are looking at something we like. I thought it was intriguing.

I enjoy people watching, and depending on who you see it almost becomes a sort of movie? I dunno, that is the best way I can describe it, hehe.

It does. A comedy movie I think. People act strange. Sometimes I just want to video tape people, and play it back for them, so they can see how weird they are.

So I guess you're not the type who likes starting new discussions huh? How will I help you increase your own comments if you don't start your own discussions :P I always respond to other people's own discussions when they respond to mine. Haha
Thanks for the comment on my discussion! again!!

Yes, I would like to watch people when somebody doing some crazy stuff. I also like to watch when I am bored and waiting for somebody and nothing to do. I am not good in observing others and finding their character. When I watch others I think that they will feel irritated about me watching them.
Thanks for commenting to my response to the discussion 'Why guys keep phto of other guys with them?' I have left a question for you. Pleas see the discussion.

ah well there is a difference in "people watching" and creepy staring. You don't stare at the people, and make them uncomfortable. They shouldn't even know you are there really. Just observe them from a distance.

Hahah! You must have a great time where ever you go. My friend does that a lot. We see someone far away in the distance and she makes voices for them and speak what she thinks they are thinking. It's funny. I always people watch.. I love doing it. The last time I was at the mall, I saw a lot of young couples with expensive accessories on with the bf holding all the bags for the girls.

yep I keep myself entertained, and people laughing at how retarded I am. It all started with sounds actually. I use to make sound effects for people I saw walking around when I was a kid. Swish swish swish for pants, and then the sound of people's butt cheeks moving. and also fat people walking. Then it progressed to talking for them, and thinking for them. Find the celeb is my fav. Alot of people look sorta like famous people. Its funny when you point it out to people and they realize it too. They're like ohhhh yeah it does lol.

FUN! I do that in the mall while eating lunch when I'm there. And while walking we try to guess if some dude's is simply with the girl or WITH the girl. Like when an old geezer comes by with a young girl, we'd guess if she's a grand daughter or if she's something else :D

lol. yeah mall is the best place to people watch. Just go to the food court, sit down at a table with some food, and check out the action. Lol yeah the couples games is fun. Some people its hard to tell. You're like oh yeah that has to be his daughter, or grandaughter, then they do something odd. You're like whoa that was a strange kiss. Did he just touch her butt? Ok that must be his gf. That or its just a really close family.

i do observe people around me. yes it's like that you say. but if i have observed you from the other corner i would have found a person just looking at someone else .
i would say what is the problem with this guy, why can't just mind his own thing!!
Many things happens around us and they way we look at it makes what it is.

yep. You are right. That's why its good not to stare. There has to be a reason for you watching people, not just a blank creepy stare. yeah. I know what you mean. Its kind of a thin line. Are you people watching, or are you just being nosey? I think trying to figure people out is people watching. Trying to learn someone's business is being nosey.

I am definitely a people watcher, not stalker, but watcher. It sounds weird, but it is so fun :) When I used to go out to the nightclubs, before I was of drinking age, I would watch how other people acted, and came to the conclusion (and hoped for their sake)most of them were drunk. The malls are also fun places to people watch. If I see a group of teenagers being crazy or loud or whatever, I think "I hope I was not like that as a teeneager." But the sad truth about that is I'm sure I was. It's just fun to see how other people "behave" in public places.

haha yeah. I wonder the same thing these days. I see some really annoying teens, and i'm like man I never acted that stupid when I was that age. Did I? And then I start trying to remember if I had or not. Yeah. Observing people makes you observe yourself. You see people's flaws, and you say man I hope I'm not like that, and you see their good qualities, and you think man I wish I could be like that. Its a very learning experience.
