Why do so many people love Tim Horton's so much?

Whenever I pass a Tim Horton's in Ontario, Canada, it is always busy, no matter what time of day. I just had to try it and yeah, it was good, but not the best I've had. Do so many people crave it that much or is it just a fad?

I live in the U.S. and we don't have any Tim Horton's here, but I could ask this same question about Starbucks! I hate Starbucks coffee because they roast it SO dark, to me it's "burned". I would like to try Tim Horton's if I could, is it dark like Starbucks or is it just like regular medium roast coffee?

It was a while since I've been to a Tim Horton's but if I remember correctly it was more of a medium roast.
