The local University in Singapore is full of games and excitement for the first week of school. We refer to it as "Orientation Program". The week is used to break the ice between new school mates and introducing them to the University's culture and facilities in the campus. Sometimes, there may be camps organised for new students to loosen the tension of adapting to a new environment. Its a great experience for people who love to move their body.

It was scary at first because I don't know anyone in our class. I was so afraid to make new friends because they seem to be silent and cold. But during our introduction, everything went smoothly because I made new friends and learned that my first impression about them was wrong. ^^,

Yeah, I would say that the first day of classes is interesting. Just because the day is sort of light-hearted: no real learning, just an intro to what you will (or should learn, lol), and meeting some new classmates, and getting a tour of the campus. True, they also let you out early because the introduction/orientation/etc doesn't take that long.
The last day of classes is much more fun. You know everyone, the last day of exams, etc.
School's a joyride, alright.

I agree with what you have mentioned, also, you could make assumptions about those new classmates of yours a later on find out if your assumptions are either accurate or not as you get to know them better (^_^ ) Very interesting since they too would have impressions about you too and realize if they were right or wrong about such impression. My classmates all thought that I was a studious type.. I guess I proved them wrong later on (^_^")

I don't like it because any teacher that coming to class will start with the self introduction again and again. Beside that, having to carry a bag while survey the school environment like to find where's the canteen is, where's the teacher's room, where's the toilet and even where's the classroom is not a happy job. However, I left it all already and I'm happy and proud that I managed to survive every first day at school

The first day of school is always scary. When I went to college years ago the freshmen ran around the campus armed with their backpacks and map. I was one of them. We lined up at the bookstore. We were in the student union. It was hectic but I had fun.

I like your description of your first day in school experience. First day usually means nothingness except seeing old and new faces, self-introductory, introduction of your class adviser, presentation of class / subject schedule, and of course like you said, early dismissal usually happens at first day. So yeah, I may have to agree with you that it's very interesting!
School - an institution dedicated to teaching and learning; an educational institution.
Interesting - arousing or holding the attention or interest of someone.
Let peace reign. Let love rule.
