I've been rummaging around through the discussions, some of which I have commented on. In fact that is how I got here in the first place. anyway, I noticed that some discussions go on for days and others never even get answered. some of those unanswered questions are pretty good ones though they have been there for a long time. so can I answer them and maybe get them going again? Why are some long and some short? Please explain to a newbie.

Welcome to myLot cathyisgodschild!
I have gone back to older discussions and answered them. I have also had people answer discussions I started a few weeks ago.
I am not really sure of the answer why some discussions go unanswered. Maybe because some discussions are not noticed by people. Or it is not a topic that they know anything about.
I don't see why you can't go post on an old discussion to bring it to light again.

I think I will the next time I can't find anything good to comment on. Seems to me that the best discussions are about this time of night and I am a day time person. Oh well, guess I will just have to post during the day and wait till the next day or schedule myself an hour or so at night. thank you for your comment it helps to understand what is going on around here.

LOL I think you will find that one hour here will turn into two rather quickly. It can be pretty addicting!!

LOL That would be a switch. an addiction that makes you money instead of costing 2 or 3 hundred a day. I think I might like that.

Hi cathy! Some of the discussions can be answered a month later.
They can be answered whenever someone sees the discussion and
decides to bring it back to life. I have had people respond to
discussions that I started when I first got here 5 months ago!
I don't mind! Some discussion are longer then others because
people have more to say. Discussions can be as long as people
want them to. There is no limit to how long they can be. The
only thing that mylot doesn't like is one line discussions and
one line responses. As for other things that are acceptable
you would need to take a good look at the terms of service
of the tos that mylot has written so you know what you can
and cannot do. That is always a very good place to start as
a newbie! But, I think you're doing just fine so far! Keep
up the good work!

Thank you for your encouragement. I got your message and I'm pretty sure things will work out just fine as long as I leave it in His hands instead of mine.

Actually how many response a discussion gets depends on so many factors. first it should be very interesting. plus there can be very active friends of that member who will response it, plus your popularity in this forum.some are short or long depends who start the discussion in which fashion. you can always keep them running by answering them.

I learned to answer by listening to my friend Opal. I am excited to try to answer some of the older questions as well as the newer ones. I see that I can earn a little here while having fun. Thank you for answering me.

I honestly have no idea. Sometimes I start questions I think will be very popular, and I get 0 responses! Other times I start questions I think only 1 or 2 users will respond to, and I get dozens of responses!
Part of it depends on how popular the interest is. Some interests have a lot of users, so you get more responses. It can also depend on how many friends you have. If you have a lot of friends, you are more likely to get a lot of responses on your discussions.
If you see an older discussion that doesn't have a lot of responses, by all means do respond! I get really excited when users respond to some of my older discussions!

Well obviously I do not have many friends on here YET. I have made 3 so far and they are all 3 quite different people but so are my "touchable" friends. LOL Not sure what the correct term would be. I will answer some of those old discussions I was talking about if you think it will make someones day because I do like to make people feel good and I don't think I would like it much if no one noticed me. That way I can make someone smile maybe. good plan. Thank you for commenting.

Length of the discussions depends on its creatot. Some might like it long, some not.It depends on how much information the user wants to share. Some discussions may be short but sensible, others may be not. Some discussions are lengthy but does not make sense at all.It all depends on the person who creates them.
Anyways,welcome to mylot.Enjoy it here.

Thank you. I think I might have used the wrong term What I meant to ask was why are there sooooo many answers to some discussions compared to 0 for others. I do understand your answer because I have seen some discussions and answers that I could not quite interpret and I'm usually pretty good at interpretation.

Hello cathy and welcome to myLots. I hope you enjoy your time here. and it sounds like you are so far. As for discussions getting a lot of response I think it depends on how many responses it gets to begin with. it also depends on the time of the day. if it's not the right time it can get buried very fast. Some times the tags don't connect those discussions with others and that can help to bury it.

It is human nature. Some are of interest and some are not. Some people find one subject fascinating and another finds it boring. Such is the differences of people.
