Have You Ever Tried BLack Rice ?

Black rice is a special type of rice grownin India and I heard it is grown in China too! It is black in colour and it gives a redish black apperance after the cooking! It is rich in Iron, Amino acids and rich in fibre too! Now a days it is heard that Chinese noodles are being prepared from this rice ! Americans also have started to market a specialbread made out of this black rice!
This rice is also known as forbidden rice ! In India this rice is used in special occassions and fried rice or pulao are few dishesprepared out of this !
have you ever tried cooking black rice ?

hi AKRAO, my dear friend, i have eaten brown rice but i have never ever heard of black rice . brown rice also look i little reddish , brownish after been cooked. but we call them brown rice hree. not black. it is good in fibre also. i think it is the same rice but we call them differentlt.i dont like the taste of it that much. i think because i have eaten white one since my childhood, so......... whatever i love rice a lot but only white rice. i eat it everyday.

I think there is a cofusion in the minds of my dear friends! I am talking about black rice which is a special type of rice! The brown rice which most of you has reffered is nothing but it is the form of unpolished normal rice! I have managed to et the photograph of the raw black rice for you people to give an idea about it! The cooked rice is also does have a black color! Thanks!

yep, i have tried black rice. i have eaten it quite a few times. i never knew that it is called black rice till now. they are reddish in colour. i have tried it, they will be bit harder than other rice and pretty heavy too. you feel like your stomach is heavy after eating them.

are red beans?
rice , black rice with the same shape,color is just not the same .
and black rice can lowed blood cholesterol levels to be useful preventing
coronary heart disease caused by hardening ,anemia,high blood pressure ,
neurasthenia ,chronic nephritis and so on.

I known only about brown rice. I never heard about black rice. These brown rice are rice with out polish. Before man used to eat these rice only. These are healthier than white rice. One of my grand father eat these brown rice. It will be more tasty than white rice and healthier also.

I'm not sure whether it's the one you said, is it the skin reddish? I have never cooked black rice before. But my mom makes it sometimes for us, i love it very much. She cooks the black rice by the slow cooker for hours until it is soft and juicy (before cooked, put the sugar or ice sugar). Then whenever we want to eat, we just put some coconut milk on it. It's really dilicious, it's kind of dessert for us. Yummy!
