I am working weekdays for a national level company.and I am doing my executive MBA.
for the last 2 weeks ,I am assigned to do many works that are important and highly confidential .
I agreed to do this . and i am doing it.
but suddenly I heard that many of my senior and junior colleagues are gossiping against me. And the management is going to take action against me.
At this moment I am unable to trust anyone.
In such circumstances will you be able to trust anyone ?

First of all have you revealed any confidential information to anybody to hich you were given access to? Why?
I think management had assigned you a particular work bcoz of the trust it had on you, and its wrong on an employee's part to betray its management. And I believe that at work one cannot find a true friend. And one has to be professional and not discuss confidential matters with collegues however close one is.
Be good to your coleagues but know how far you can go. Be smart and avoid situations when olleagues become inquistive to know the details of confidential information you have access to. Try dodging their questions by saying you are not aware or only your boss has info to it.

if i was in your place, of course i would still trust anyone, we should just stick in this world's reality that not everyone are worth the sweat. maybe your colleagues are back-stabbers but hey, there are still other nice people around you right? maybe they just envy you or they're just insecure but that wouldn't be reason enough for you to feel down. cheer up and continue doing your job. as i always say in my fs profile "always smile because you have to expect that the world will always frown on you =)
