The falling sensation when dreaming

Sometimes when I am in a deep sleep, I have dreams of FALLING!...In my dream I maybe falling from a cliff, building etc...When these dreams occur, I get this awful sensation...This is what I remember before some part of my body JOLTS and wakes me up!...Have you had one of these dreams and were you able to wake yourself up?...And is it true, that if you dont wake up,whilst you keep falling, the sensation your body goes through, is too much for the heart and you die in your sleep?...Keen to hear your thoughts and show my friend...hehe

Hi Kimirio, I believe that you have been travelling when you have this dream and it is a matter of urgency that your soul returns to your body before you land which is why quite often you wake up with a sweat after experiencing a dream like this. This is what also concerned me in the earlier discussion you responded to of mine where my ex said he was sitting on the elevated section of my land looking in at me and the feeling I had that night of being watched, perhaps he himself had travelled without realising. There is so much that we don't understand. I like the previous response have had the one where I have been above myself asleep but haven't experienced a shaking bed when reconnecting. Hope all this makes sense.

Thank you Ellie333, It does make sense and it's interesting to hear other people's experiences...Is what you state similar to 'ASTRAL TRAVELLING'?...My friend gave me an author by the name of DOREEN VIRTUE...She says to get this book and I might get some answers as this author writes of DREAMS etc...Thank you for joining the discussion...Maybe your partner did 'travel' with out realizing...That's a freaky thought...I hope you two still get on reguardless...Take care

Firstly thank you for the best response, really appreciated, secondly I cannot reply to PMs for some strange reason, a blip in the system but thank you and I am sure there will be many more and thirdly I have many of Doreen Virute books including Earth Angels and The Crystal Children, very interesting to read. Enjoy the book that was recommended. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi there Modman3045, I am not sure what any of the dreams mean...However, talking to my friend, whislt taking our morning stroll, I asked her what her thoughts were and she put it down to STRESS!...She has those same dreams also and she believed it was because we had stress in our daily lives...Thank you for your response...Happy MyLotting!

i have had falling dreams in the past. and i also have heard that if you dont wake up as u r falling in ur dream, u can die in ur sleep. or maybe as u r falling in ur dream, u also fall off ur bed and die before u wake up from ur dream. but who knows if it is true or not.

Hi Fifileigh, Thank you for your response...Falling off the bed in your sleep, is another thing that has happened, when experiencing these types, of dreams...Since posting this topic, I have asked other friends and they have had a similar experience, but also, cannot tell me if dying is possible... It amazes me how many people have had the same experience. Happy MyLotting and cheers!

I get a lot of these, and I would always be jolted awake by either my foot jerking or by this really huge thump on my chest. I also get the feeling of being out of breath. It's scary. The funny thing is, after each episode, I just drop of to sleep again, whereas noises and other things would wake me and then I find it really hard to fall asleep again. Is that really true about the not waking up thing? I guess it's possible when you think about it, especially with the thump in the chest and the being out of breath. Fortunately, I always wake up every time!

I've noticed that too. I was surfing the net and my sister was sleeping, then suddenly she moved. I was a little bit scared because the reaction in her face was unusual. I woke him up immediately because I taught she was having a bad dream, then she told me that in her dream she was in a tall building and she lost her balance. Wheow! I thought it was already something else. ^^,

Wow Zhaychel!...Thanks for responding...I have had a similar dream, where my friend was watching me, due to the odd way I was whilst in dreamland...She said I was twitching and not seem right, so she woke me up...What she woke me from?...I was falling off a skyscraper!...Happy MyLotting!

I used to get this as a child almost nightly only I would not really be dreaming, just in a half dream state and i would feel my body lift off the bed towards the cieling then i would drop. The funny thing is after idropped i could feel and hear the bed shaking. It was very strange.Never had an actual falling dream though, and i'm glad.I suppose its possible to kill someone with a heart problem especially if they dont realize its a dream but i hope not!

Wow Gabbybright, First of all...Thanks for taking the time to respond...I hope that the thought of dying whilst falling is untrue...I was told this when I mentioned to my girlfriend in third form...I am 42yrs now and had a similar experience, during last week, so I posted my queries, in the hope that someone out there could verify...Your story is a bit freaky and have you ever tried to seek help to get explanations for your experiences?...I mean...This sounds like an 'out of body' experience...People claim they have had an 'out of body' experience, where they leave their bodies ( knowing very well, they should be sleeping ) and actually claim they can see themselves lying down, fast asleep, whilst floating above themselves...The shaking of the bed is a mystery and I suggest you find someone who can give you answers...I mean...What if the experience is life threatening?...Please if you do seek help...Get back to me and let me know the outcome, as I am very keen to know how you got on!...Take care and Happy MyLotting!

Thank for your response Pheobie...Maybe stress is the cause...It is a funny sensation and my friend and I were talking tonight on the topic, so I thought I would find out if others had any ideas or explanation...Thanks and Happy MyLotting!
