Drinking and driving....is it that big of a deal to you?

People are always being warned not to drink and drive. Yet, we do have bars. How many people go into a bar and not drink? How many people want to go into a bar with 4 friends and one of them will not drink alchohol? That is rare. Usually, the designated driver is the one who is not as drunk at the rest. Even one drink impairs your ability to a certain extent no matter how many people brag about how they can drink everyone else under the table. So how should this be handled? People die from drunken drivers everyday. Some people do not think twice about this, maybe because they have not had family members who were a victim. I, personally, do not have to have a family member be a victim to say something needs to be done about this. When you consider all the lives that have been lost due to drunk driving, the slap on the wrist that people get for it, is nothing.

Drinking and driving is not a good thing. I never drive when I drink. One reason is that it is dangerous another is the fine you have to pay if you get caught. Its too much money for something like that, so even if we go out to party and have something to drink we always take taxi to drive us around. Its safer and cheaper at the end.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I think it is New Year's Eve...around here that the taxis give free rides.
