Cat that pees on the floor

I have a cat who is two years old who pees in about the same spot on the floor on a regular basis. I have tried every different brand of litter under the sun, had him tested for a urinary track infection and put little boxes all over the house, but nothing has helped. Any other suggestions?

My brother's cat does the same thing if the litter box isn't kept cleaned out she will find other places to go. I'd also look into getting him neutered. Its possible that he's just marking his territory.

Thank you both. Yes, he is neutered and yes I have other cats. I have a total of 5 litter boxes that I clean out at least once a day, sometimes more. I am definitely going to try cleaning the area with vinegar. I haven't tried that yet! The hard part about trying to spray him with water is that I work outside the home all day. So, I don't know that I am there enough to really use that method affectively, but I will definitely check into getting a spray bottle anyhow.

Has he been neutered? I know it sounds way to simple, but maybe he's just being territorial. I've even heard of some cats (even AFTER they've been neutered) who have a tendency to marking their territory. Do you have other cats? That will have alot to do with it as well (he's trying to show them it's HIS spot, not theirs). There's other things you can try as well, try getting a water bottle and spraying him in the face when he goes near that area, create a reaction to his action so that he learns to associate getting a shot in the face with what he's doing (hopefully he's not like my cat and LIKES the spray in the face). Also (gee, I can't shut up) clean the area with vinegar, the smell may still be around from him peeing there for so long (it may not be strong enough for you to smell, but he sure can) getting rid of the smell SHOULD deter him from going in that spot again. Hope something here helps!
