Several years ago there was a study done by a major university that showed that your success in High School was determined by your success in Middle School, and college success was determined by your grades in HS, Your success in Grad School was determined by your grades in College and your success in the work world had nothing to do with you grades in school. Your success has more to do with attitude than with a piece of paper (Diploma). The Diploma will open doors for you but it is up to you prove yourself.
Tom Landry, former coach of the Dallas Cowboys, summed it up when he was asked why he was so successful in building winning teams with unknown players. He said that "I always drafted the best Athletes, I can teach them the skills but I can't teach them attitude".

Education is a long term investment and you may not be rewarded in a short time.So at that time you will find that the knowledge you have learnt does little help to your success. When I graduated from school I found that what I had learnt was of no help for me even to find a decent job. I had the same doubt as you. But when I found a job and dedicated myself to it. I suddenly relized that what I learnt in school was very useful. Such as the way of thinking, problem solving skill, fast-learning ability ect, which can be cultivated in school.
So, I believe education can contribute to your success. The one who has higher education will have more chance to succeed than those aren't.

It depends entirely on what your definition of success is. Some would say raising a happy and healthy family is success to them. And for that type of success, education is not necessarily needed. But, to provide better for your family, a better education is ideal so that you are better qualified for better jobs. More and more employers are requiring college education now. So, sit down and define your idea of success, and go from there.

Success can have so many different meanings. To me, education is related to success when it comes to the profession that I would like to have. It also helps me acquire knowledge to a certain degree. But success also includes having a happy family and friends. In my case, success is a mix of both.

I don't think so.Not for all people.I have known many people who had finished courses but was not able to make them succeed in life. But I believe in proper education it serves as our framework in life.It is also destiny that we cannot for see our success in certain courses.
