What is or was your favorite part of the playground?

My favorite part, and still is, the swings. I remember it was so hard when I was little, and so my mother pushed me. We went to the playground often. I liked to slide also, and climb. Monkey bars always left my hands with calluses but I liked them to. Unfortunately, the sand box wasn't much of a success. How about you? What is or was your favorite thing to do or part of a playground?

I have to say it is the good old swings for me. There was always a queue for them too, so they must be popular choice.
I have to admit this to. A few years ago I got sick and had to leave work for good. One day I took my daughters to the playground. They went on everything and I went and sat on a swing. My daughters laughed at me, but all I could think about was how fun they where when I was young and I began to go higher and higher. My daughters laughed so much at their big silly Mum on that swing, but it was the best fun I had, had in years. Being ill makes everything around you so important.
Thanks for bringing back good memories to me. Take care.

Well thanks for replying. Yeah I remember wishing the park near my house had more "kid's" swings rather than baby swings cause we would always have to take turns while nobody or only one baby was on the other side. That is adorable, never to old to enjoy the swings - I think.

Oh that's funny, darn signs and restrictions! Luckily it wasn't a weight or height restraint (like at amusement parks or mcdonalds) to discourage you.

Ah swings 4 to 0 again. I see, maybe that is just another incentive to lose a bit. I can go on them near my home but my legs are a bit long so I really have to be careful and remember to bend them now :p Thanks.

The swings were the best part of the playground for me. I liked the sliding board as well but always spent the most time on the swings. I didn't care for the monkey bars, and that merry go round thing, I hated, because it always made me sick. Every now and then I would get into the sand box, but I did not the feel of the sand when it got under my clothes.

Yes! Cute cute I hope that if I ever have children, they will enjoy it too, so I can share that joy with them. Push them, teach them.

Hello wunovakind!! Well as far as my fondest childhood memory goes I've always been a fan of the swings and at times the seesaw. After class I would always go straight to the playground and swing myself away until my dad or mom picked me up. Unfortunately, for me the slide wasn't that much of a success. I was always scared to climb the ladder going up then sit on top of the slide, wheeww that always made me dizzy just to look down from up there. Funny 'cause up until now I still don't like slides. LOL. ^_^

One of the best part of being a child, just having fun and not having a single care in the world. The good old days!! LOL.
**I'd volunteer as your seesaw playmate anytime! Not too late to be young at heart right? hihi. ^__________^

Hi there poisonivy! Okay I'm not gonna keep score along the way now. heh. Aww so cute. Yeah I was always afraid of really high slides at a point. Seesaw I never had anyone to play with :P But after school, my mom would wait while my sister and I played. Such fun times.

Swings! ^_^ I remember when I learned how to do that 'extend your legs out when you go forwards and bend them when you go backwards'. Ah, fun days. I would stay on the swings as long as I could just to enjoy the feeling of reaching for the sky with my eyes closed.

Yes! Oh I remember learning to do so too! :) I was so happy when I was able to go really high on my own.

I used to LOVE the swings I'd spend hours on them alone. (If you've ever seen Disney's recess I'd have been the girl on the swings all the time in that show)
The slide was ok but i hated going up the ladder...Hated the monkey bars. But i did really like the sand pit and the merry go round.

Hehe I remember that show. I spent the majority of the time on the swings at the park too! At least, it developed into that habit
