Worst computer viruses

Hello my friends,
I'm sure everyone of us has been infected at least once. I am curious to know what was the worst kind of virus that has ever infected your computer. As for me, back in the newbie years I've gotten one little virus that would shut down my PC every time I'd started it, and only after 3 minutes. It always was a dialog box with the time showing me the minutes. I had at the time some outdated antivirus and in order to remove the infection, the antivirus needed an update, and being on dial-up, with very "good" connection, I wasn't able to do it in time.... Now I laugh just to think off it, but than it was a real drama for me. What about you?

I had a virus once... which was really irritating my head off. I loaded Windows and a message appeared "Your system will shut down in 30 seconds" and it kept counting. After 30 seconds it would just turn off my system. I didn't know what to do. You can't make backups of files which are some GB's each in 30 seconds. I had to format my computer and lost everything..
Kind of sounds like the same one as you?

Hehe, I think it was its bigger brother, and I also remember now how I got infected. I received a curious cd from a friend of mine, who at the time, was the proud owner of the cd-writer, and after taking some stuff from the cd, I took his little present too, but I doubt that he did it on purpose.

I don't think he did it on purpose either. I assume I got it from a pop up while browsing the net. Or I did download something which I shouldn't of had to do. I haven't had any virus anymore for years.
