Hello everyone out there,
Just wan to ask for suggestion from you all. This is the assignment that have to be completed in studies. It's practical. I just hope i can get some nice suggestion from you all.
Ok here's the situation.
Protect an egg dropping from 4th floor with just these 3 materials:
1 normal egg
1 piece of A4 cardboard (as thick as manila card)
1 stick of 7ml UHU glue
Conditions:
Properties of the material are not to be modified. Eg: Add water to the glue, immersed egg in vinegar, harden the cardboard using PVA glue and so on..
But, you can like.. cut the cardboard into few pieces or whatever as long as u're just using those 3 materials.
Aim:
The point is to design an 'instrument' to let the egg land safely from 4th floor.
Any suggestion will be much appreciated. =)

Wow, that's a tough one! You need to make the cardboard absorb the shock somehow, and keep the egg in place. I think I would make some kind of box with long edges, so it lands on the edges, so the egg will not contact the floor. Or, you can um.. have someone stand at the bottom and catch the egg. They probably won't take that one though!

i was going to suggest making a simple basket and placing the egg in it and then making a small parachute sort of thing for it but you really ARE limited... that IS a brain scratcher =P
well i guess you could cut the board and glue it together into a glider sort of thing... then secure the egg with those materials somehow to it... but you are talking 4th floor... wow... sorry im lost as to what would save that egg from being splattered lol
