Why do people want to believe Vampires exist but not Werewolves?

you never see that many groups or people with fixations on werewolves but a ton on vampires.. maybe its the whole viciousness of the werewolves that turn people off?? why do you think there is such a difference in popularity?? do you know of anyone that actually obsesses over werewolves?

I know people on both sides of that.
Vampires are just sexier, really. dogs make better pets than lovers.
I suppose the idea of someone being sexually attracted to the idea of werewolves is a bit close to bestiality to me.
but then when it comes to the idea of werewolves, I like them to turn from a full human form to a fully wolf form, not some freaky hybrid.
the people I know that prefer werewolves like how they are so controlled by raw instinct, and wildness.
so I can sort of see where they're coming from, but I'll always choose vampires over werewolves, because I just prefer them. I'm also a bit too fascinated by blood. I find it very beautiful, and I'm fascinated by the cardiovascular system. always have been when I was little I'd sit and play with my veins, finding the valves, and seeing where I could block it and release it again. okay, that makes me sound weird.

If you read Twilight, vampires are awesome! So are werewolfs, but not exactly explained like that. Also, werewolfs are less believable. A person turning into a dog? Vampires make a little more sense!

i love horror movies and they have been in horror movies forever.. and i also like watching the documentaries on both since they both are twisted from the truth (weird unknown and misunderstood medical problems back them) it makes them a lot more interesting.. of course the physical changes dont happen in real life but the psychological ones are

I've actually seen that werewolf fiction's started to get a growing following.
Werewolves aren't usually seen as, as "pretty" as vampires. They don't always have s*x appeal either. They're wolf/doggie people. Prone to all the same things wolves and dogs are...with the edition of normally painful transformations and usually being "cursed".
It's made for some pretty interesting and unique new takes as far as books go.

I guess it is easier to "manifest" and become a vampire. Cos it is just some pale makeup, drink some animal blood and fangs.
To be a werewolf, one would have to be able to grow and shrink their hair on command. Which is near impossible for people.
But there is a story of werewolf syndrome people. These people are plagued by a medical condition where their body hair grows out from everywhere there is skin.
And their face and body and in some extreme cases, even their palms and soles of their feet have hair growing out of them.

And the many movies and stories told about vampires and werewolves do not help in the image of these people as well.
I guess if one were to have those medical conditions in medieval times, they would probably have been lynched by the villagers where they live in!
How ignorance could ruin the lives of so many. IT is a good thing that we know have better knowledge of this medical condition. And some of these people suffering from it can seek help to overcome the effects it has on life.

unfortunately even with medical knowledge we have now there are still such a huge percentage that is still ignorant and causing a lot of pain..

i feel sorry for the people with that werewolf syndrome!! especially since it is more common in girls .. they also think that some of the "werewolves" back in medieval times was because of a fungus that grew on the wheat or something that was making people hallucinate and seeing or thinking they were werewolves haha.. but then again there is a blood condition that mimics vampirism too so they both seem rooted in history and facts just wayyy overly dramatized lol..

Hey I like werewolves. Especially the lycans in Underworld. That movie is freaking awesome. I think the difference is probably the sexuality. Like I mean, vampires can seduce you and all that and they are almost always handsome looking whereas werewolves just eat you.

People need everything that is instant.Vampires are readily available every night.
People have no patience to wait for the full moon day and again wait patiently for the hair and fangs to grow with that unbearable agony cry which sets your teeth on edge.

I find it easier to believe in werewolves because it is more likely to happen than seeing someone drinking blood and turning into a bat. Perhaps wolves are so close to man that we can associate ourselves with them.

I think it's because of all the movies about vampires making it look glamorous and free and sexy, almost since the dawn of cinema they have made movies about vampires. It's harder to make films about werewolves because the transformation is a whole body one, with a vampire you just need a set of fake fangs and some white make up and it's done.
