money~the conplicated thing

some months before,one of my friends borrow some money from me.he promised he would pay back in one month. so i ask him if he got enough money after one month.but he said he has bought a pair of new sport shoes and have no money again and will give me the money once he has. now there are couple of months passed, it seems he will never have enough money to pay back.and i have not count on him any more. do you have the same situation with me,what will you do?
