I once had my phone stolen by some 16 year old girl. I lost it in the mall...
When i got the bill every number she called was on it. i never really took any action but the worst part is that i only had the phone for 2 weeks, lost the rebate. :(

That sounds as though You never got the phone back..? But You found out it was a 16 year old Girl..and you had a bunch of contacts She'd called using it..Was the phone insured so you could get it replaced?

Hehehehe I have read the story and indeed the thief is so stupid. He never even changed the number so the owner can't trace it.
I did had my cellphone stolen once. I tried to look for the guy but he was so fast I never saw him. My uncle and I planned to text the thief about money. That he has to meet someone whose suppose to be giving me a money. But I refused to push through with it. I got afraid cause the thief seem to know where I live though he doesn't know the exact address. I think my life is still more important than my cellphone. But Kaku, he is a very brave man.

I've never (yet!) had a phone stolen, but I think I'd like to be able to pull something like this off if it ever did happen!
Thanks for the response!

That was funny. But I am not that impressed, maybe because here in our country, it is never possible for a guy to get your cell phone and KEEP the number for a long time. Usually, the guy who stole it, will immediately replace the phone SIM card or Subscriber Identity Module. The SIM card contains a new phone number, which is then connected to a wireless mobile provider and voila! You just dumped the old number and gave birth to your new stolen phone and new cell phone number. And since the old SIM card is already removed, you will not be able to contact the cell phone number contained in the old SIM card.
And FYI, a new SIM card (and thus a new cell phone number) costs only less than $1.

that shows how smart people are from your country! that's a good thing because i live there too! hahaha after my phone was stolen, i couldn't reach my number because they immediately removed my SIM card. from then on i never bought expensive cellphones just in case it would get lost or stolen again =C

If you have all the information to hand about your phone, the IMEI number and so on,You can inform your cellphone service provider the phone has been stolen, and they can lock the phone so that it will inconvenience the thief by having to unblock it..if You're quick enough!
