Do you like the flavor of envelopes?

I actually love to lick envelopes, it's kind of sweet, to me at least. Now I'm thinking of Seinfeld, but I don't want to ruin the episode, so if you get the reference, haha. Anyway, I digress. I like the taste, but I don't really know if this happens to be typical thing. I'm not a typical person, though. I have eaten string, paper, just little bits of it, really.

Hi Sheepie, I used to like the taste but not since my um used to say the was made from horses hoofs, that put me off licking envelopes and stamps, I use small wet sponge, I use to like the taste of candles. Tamara

Hi Sheepie, I use to eat little bits of after scraping it with my teeth, I was a strange child, when the wax is still warm, I used to take little bit of and roll it inot tiny little balls and bit it between my teeth and eat it. My mim use to say to me if I keep eating candles, I will turn into one, so I stopped, I didn't want any one lighting me. Tamara

Well, I'm not sure if they really make it from horse hoofs anymore, but I am sure that if it was going to cause any harm, they would not sell it like that. You used to taste candles? Was the wax melted or did you lick it? I have never heard of that!

No, no, NO, Sheepie ... PLEASE STOP LICKING ENVELOPES IMMEDIATELY! I know it sounds silly, but a few years ago my Mum had a growth on her tongue. She thought it was cancer, and was petrified. They cut it out and did a biopsy, and it turned out it was a fungal infection from some horrible glue on an envelope from China. The glue had been made from something nasty - so PLEASE don't lick them anymore - dab them with a sponge instead!

That's gross and scary! I will probably forget it next time I find an envelope that you lick, but I don't think they make them anymore anyway.

Haha! It's a huge shame though, I've never even gotten to see the episode. We got the whole boxed series, but the CD with that episode simply wasn't there. I just found out from the later episodes.

I hear there is a disorder called Pica, where people eat weird things like that, but I don't know how much you have to eat to have it.

Ewww I can't stand the taste of lickin enevelopes. I dont lick them especially after that 9/11 stuff where they found things ni envelopes etc...I always have 2 tape my envelopes when im mailing stuff out etc. Or I have some 1 else lick it for me...They also have this glue stick stuff I use too..

Envelope, not for me. It taste sticky and gooey like glue, but again. I have to admit I tasted glue before. I think all my cousins and siblings had glue at one time in their life.

Since seeing that episode of Seinfeld, I seal my envelopes with a damp sponge. Call me chicken if you like!!!

Im a paper eater too lol small pieces not letter sized hehehe. But I dont like the taste of stamps or envelopes. Actually Im quite happy with the way every envelope now has that paper you just take off and seal the envelope. No eating glue for me anymore

The Flavor of the envelope is kind of sweet, but I wouldn't say its good. Really try not to lick them since I don't know what they are made of LOL.

Hmm I don't really lick envelopes to seal them actually, I just used a wet sponge. But also, bills can be done online now so not much mail needs to be sent... :P I don't think they taste bad though.
