i am dealing now with excruciating pain with the results now of hyperventilating because of the severe pain. i am on pain meds and now klonopin, i never had this hyperventilating before. has anyone ever experienced this. i am on my antidepressants which are increased and seroquel 50 another antidepressant before bed which helps me sleep. i am depressed due to my pain and anxiety. i don;t have it alone, however, i feel now like a basketcase because of this hyperventilation that has suddenly come on. if anyone has had any experiences it would be helpful thank you all

Chostrochondritis is caused by the connecting cartilage not being healthy.
It is weak and when it flexes, it feels like it is being pulled apart.
I don't know of a quick fix for this one, but treatment does work.

Is hyperventilating the same as having heart palpitations? I have fibromyalgia for 12 years now but have experienced heart palpitations since I was a teenager. After having one that lasted for an extended length of time, I went to see a heart specialist. He said for me to lie down on my left side (where the heart is) and push like I was having a bowel movement. It works! In fact, I can sometimes make it work without having to lie down.
Since having fibromyalgia and having my brother die suddenly at the age of 56 of a heart attack, I went back to the heart specialist because I was also experiencing chest pains. The chest pains, he determined, are from the fibromyalgia.
So, as I said, I'm not sure whether hyperventilating and palpitations are the same thing. If they are, you might want to try this method.
Good luck.
