I see most of the sites I write for have already been mentioned. I write for the following:
Associated Content: They pay upfront for the articles plus residual payments, but they require more serious work and are fussy about what they take as well.
Helium: You write shorter articles, but it's easier. You must also rate articles to get people to view your writing. No upfront payment unless you sell one to marketplace or win a writing contest. Residuals can add up if you have a lot of articles, however.
Gather: You can write about anything, as long or short as you like. You earn points, which are then turned into cash via PayPal or gift cards. You also get points for rating others and making comments.
There are also a number of other sites I have been planning to try, but just don't have time for: Triond, Epinion (I've done some reviews there), Constant-Content, ReviewStream.
Good luck with your writing.

Thanks for the update. I haven't written for them for awhile, and they have taken my stars away. Thus, FYI for anyone writing for Helium, you must maintain your activity to maintain your star status.

Helium has introduced a new system, starting this month. If you have one or more writing stars you will receive upfront payments for new articles in most of the channels. You get daily residual income when you have one or more rating stars.

Check out helium and associated content. It depends on what you want to do. It depends on how much you want to make and whether you want to keep the rights to the articles you create. Remember most of these sites have a minimum word count requirement.

Since you're in the Philippines and my kababayan, I'll help you find a writing gig. I used to write in a site whose owner is a Filipino. You get paid every month and there's no limit on how many you would write in a day. You are given various topic or you can choose you're own topic to write in a special assignment section.

Sorry but that's too low for me. I will try a friend is offering for P300/article, 500 words but will only be given max of 3 in a day.
I am also considering this review stream.

Helium.com has many writing opportunities and I have read testimonies of those who have succeeded in making hundreds of dollars by writing alone. Cheers!!
