mandarin - online references

i'm trying to learn mandarin but unfortunately i'm not good at languages. can anyone here recommend a website that can help? kind of a tutorial especially in constructing sentences and writing characters. been trying find one which also say the strokes being used in each character. i get easily confused with them.

cool. how's your progress so far? is it tough learning mandarin? i've been wanting to learn mandarin for ages. probably this year i will do it, i really hope so!
