Betting pool in Maine on when Obama will be assassinated--$1 per chance

Some times my fellow citizens REALLY embarras me as an American. Just reading through the list of accounts in the article was nausiating. People are sick. I will now adress this in my capacity as founder and head of the NH Refederation Movement: A greater point occured to me. Given the climate, the pending homegrown terrorism bill and the state of things, and because of stupidity as witnessed in the accounts in this article, legitimate constitutional defnse groups like mine could eventualy come under scrutiny as domestic terrorist supporters. There is a tendency already to brand citizen patriot groups that watch government and call them out on constitutional viloations as "right wing extremeists" Do NOT put me or my group in the same class as the depraved people and groups in this article. We do NOT advocate the assasination of the president nor wish or hope for it to happen as this would not only be inhuman to hope for it, but such an event would be counter productive to our ends.

I can't believe that some people would even think about doing that - I certainly don't want to see a president assassinated in my lifetime!

That is sick. I know there has to be a lot of plots to assassinate any President we get, most we don't even here about. But with Obama's mixed race he will be even more of a target. Just because I didn't vote for the man, and I disgree with his politics...It makes me sick to think this is going on with no repercussions...yet.

Many people may not agree with his politics, but this is just not right! It is really sad to think that our country is this divided. Hopefully things will settle down after he is actually in office.

That is in extremely poor taste - no matter how much people might think it is a possibility, they certainly shouldn't be betting on it.

That's just WRONG!!! After all the crap that the Bush's have put us through, so many people want to assasinate a guy before he gets started, just because he's black?!? Yes, I said it, he's black. He's not 1/2 black, or mostly white. In this country, if you have a drop of black blood in you and have black traits, you're black, no matter how pale you are. But really, we haven't gotten past the race wars yet? That's truly sad. Happy MyLotting!

I know we have freedom and speech and I'm for that as much anyone but I'm also amazed someone could openly do something this disgusting. I'm saying this as an American and a human being, no as a liberal or a Democrat. It would be every bit as wrong no matter who our President Elect was. I guess it takes all kinds to make a world, but there sure are some sickos out there! Annie
