I wonder if my favorite fries are also good for my health. That is one of my favorite food whenever I visit a fast food chain. It just comes out in my mind. Maybe because it's oily when cooked? What do you think? Could it be harmful for us? Does it have nutrients? Or is it just a junk? Do I really have to avoid eating fries? Please share your thoughts.

French fries are not healthy for you. Think about it, they are cooked in grease, even though some of the grease is drained off, a great of grease is held in the fries itself, so whenyou are consume the fries you consuming fat. They help clog your arteries.

potatoes are healthy because of its potassium content. what makes it unhealthy is the way you cook it. like in french fries it was cooked deep fried and then seasoned with a lot of salt that makes it unhealthy because of the high cholesterol and fats present in oil and salt.

hi jencai, my dear friend, i think french fries cannot be healthy as they are deep fried and a deep fried item cannot be as healthy as the other one, unless the oil used is not as good which i dont think the restaurants may be using. potatoes are very good but when they are deep fried and salted , i think they are a big invite to cholestrol, fat. i think a baked fry can be a healthy option if you really wanna ask that fries are healthy or not. we can make french fries without a ton of grease on them. and i am sure you will like taste too. if you wanna try them at home on your own, you can buy ready made raw fries , take a pan and be sure not to crowd the pan with too much of fries . a single layer works best to crisp them up. and fewer fries means its easier to turn the fries. which should be done frequently. also be sure only to bake what you are are gonna eat.

I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who love french fries especially french fries from a specific restaurant, because they like the way they are cooked or they like the way they taste, and there are some people who say that french fries are good for you because they are made from potatoes, and then there are people who say that french fries are bad for you because they are cooked in a lot of oil and grease so that takes away the nutrients from the potato,I have always liked french fries especially french fries from fast food restaurants, because they just have a way about cooking them,I have never liked the french fries that you can make at home because they do not taste good to me,and my favorite place to get french fries is McDonald's because they taste so good, and I could make a meal out of them, and I think I have before, and I love that they are on the dollar menu,so you can get one for a dollar, which helps you save money to,another place I like getting french fries from is Burger King because there french fries are not as good as McDonald's but they still have really good french fries, and french fries make some meals taste even better, and somethings you can not eat without french fries,I think french fries are like other fast food and are not good for you because of the fact that they are cooked in way to much grease and oil,but I would not say they are junk,I do not think french fries can be harmful to you, unless you go overboard and eat too many of them,or unless you eat them too often, and I would not tell you to avoid eating french fries, but just watch out how many times a week you eat them, and try to balance them with healthy foods so you stay healthy, like one day you eat french fries, and the next day you eat a salad,or something else that has vitamins and nutrients in it,but that is just my opinion, but I am sure that others would agree with me.

Hi Jencai, almost everyone said that French fries is not healthy....however it's also one of the best selling items in the fast-food restaurants. I enjoy fries; even if I'm only having a drink at McDonalds, KFC or A&W, I would still have fries!

They arent healthy at all. if you made your own with no fats or oils or anything then they would be healthy since their potatoes. But fast food joints deep fry them.

Well. . .there isn't really a "healthy" fry that exists but I think In N Out fries are the least unhealthy of all fast-food chains, since they use fresh potatoes and stuff and there isn't much grease in them.

Potatoes are also very good for you from a nutrition standpoint. They contain high amounts of health-promoting nutrients including vitamin C (a powerful antioxidant), dietary fiber, and potassium (which helps to maintain the stability of heart cells and the central nervous system). And the carbohydrates in potatoes provide your muscles with energy and your brain with fuel.

French fries, while tasty (one of my favorites) are not healthy in general. Potatoes aren't bad for you in moderation, but the oils and salt used in french fries are. Some oils are less harmful to you than others, however fast food restaurants typically do not use the oils that are better for you. On any level, french fries are not good for you because they do not have many good nutritional values, yet have many calories and are high in fat. That said, I still enjoy french fries once in a while and there isn't a reason why you should not as long as you keep a balanced diet and don't constantly eat them. :)
