Just out of curiousity i want to try the Ubuntu linux OS but i'm not sure about the security features there and if wether it supports most anti-viruses.I'm currently on windows XP professional but i want to try the Ubuntu too
For me i trust only Microsoft's anti-viruses, i.e windows defender, onecare etc because i trust that they give me total security
Has anyone here used it, or is there anyone here who is using it? and please tell all about the security features there? because as we all know that security is our first priority when it comes to browsing online.

Go ahead!Linux is a very safe OS, when it comes in the discussion of security. There is rare chance of getting infected compared to the Windows OS.Many reasons for that.First and the most Linux architecture is based on shell which is very safe technology. And writing a VIRUS program targeting a windows machine is found to be very easy, any kid can do that these days. But the case of linux is different.Very few even try to write Virus programs targeting linux systems because most of the user community belongs to Windows. And you can optimize your security in Linux to get a even safer level of Surfing.
Happy myLotting!

I understand now, but i find it difficult to install that OS, i mean firstly my Hard drive has two partitions, the first one was the which has windows on it and the second one is the one which has my files.
Now i want to format the first partition and install linux there but on my attempt to do that i get the error message which say something about not detecting the partition and i get all sorts of confusing commands

It is natural for a novice to find difficulties in installing Linux.Don't get frustated!I think the problem is your hard disk is partitioned as NTFS.It is a secure partition. That might be the reason for not showing the partition. Now you can do one thing using windows disk you can format it into a fat32 file system. Then it will be easy for you. Then you try to install with the Linux CD.
Try this and let me know.:)
