Cushions on Couches

Like everyone else we also have cushions on the couches in our living area. I find it most irritating and always have to compete for a seat with a cushion or two. Why do we have them? The only time I pull one closer is to lie down to watch some TV. The only problem is that it is no good for that either because it takes me approximately 2 minutes to fall asleep. Am I weird or do you feel the same?
