I used to get one or two emails telling me I could claim an inheritance of millions, or that I had won a large sum of money, most would go into my spam filter box. But over the last week I have received, and had to delete from my INBOX, over 100 such emails. And on top of that, there now seem to be dozens of loan companies popped up offering loans. I think this is just a sign of the financial problems in the world right now, but man is it taking up my time. I am only referring to my yahoo email address by the way, it doesnt seem to have happened on any of my hotmail addresses. Has anyone else noticed a massive increase in these types of email?

Yeah, at first I thought about my gmail account cause the Spam have slgihtly increased in number and there were about 2 spam mails who wormed its way into my inbox. Got rid of it and the rest. But with yahoo, aside from my daily one or two spam, there are a lot that goes directly into my inbox. Thats what I really dont like about yahoo. Id have to weed out the spam myself. I get a lot of them as well and a bit more these days but not that much. 100 would be too much even for spam mail standards.

I really wonder when the credit crunch would stop or at least slow down. Well, its good to hear that most of those spam have been out of your inbox. Surprisingly, I got 7 from gmail and only 4 from Yahoo. I know that the day is still early so who knows right? You're welcome.^_^

I do find yahoo to be the worst, however I think spam emails in general have increased quite a bit lately, probably because we are all running scared due to the news reports about recession and credit squeeze. Ye 100 is too many, I got another 20 today, but that is less than last week, so it looks like im winning. Thanks for responding bjcyrix.

Well Yahoo (my e-mail "server") seems to be very good at blocking spam, but it still is bad in my spam folder. Often what happens is you sign up for just one newsletter and all of a sudden you have 30 coming in one hour. Which is why I have one Yahoo e-mail address for Newsletters, Registrations, and Freebies. Then I have my personal Yahoo e-mail for Groups, Friends, and Family. It all works out pretty well - and it minimizes my spam!

I know what you mean, I have to spend hours unsubscribing from lists where I have joined just to get a bit of info. It just seems to be never ending. Thanks for your response.

Hopefully more discussions like this might warn those new to the internet, that these are scams and they should, under NO circumstances, read or respond to this type of email. There are over 10,000 new people joining the internet every day and any one of these could fall prey to those tricksters. Thanks for responding coolcat123.

I get that many too. Probably because I sign up for websites I'll never use again for some benefit like points for something. Oh well. :-) Can you believe I work somewhere that people actually call to complain that we are soliciting to them to buy a magazine? How do these people have time to email everyone sending them spam. Just crazy!!! They must not get the hundreds we get. lol

Such emails are complete spams, better block them. When an email impresses you more with more earning-this is the symptom of false email.
