should i go to further study or to go to work

i was a university student on grade 4 ,and many classmaes are preparing for exame to go to further study. but some people say our major (nursing ) is no use to go to further study .but i realy want to go on studying ,but i am afraid my family will go on working hard for my scholar, although they are no longer young. if you face the problem how will you deal with it? would you give some advice? thank you .
