My first question would be, how many times were you checked with your blood pressure and how many times you have had this kind of blood pressure? In the primary health care, you need to have 5 straight days of routine blood pressure check to see if you really have some problems there and this should be done at least at the same time of the day. If it is 9 in the morning, you should be having those blood pressure check the same time in the succeeding days.
Another is, what kind of diet are you having with? Are you feasting on fatty foods, fast foods and high sodium diet? Do you have other ailments or conditions like heart problem and kidney problems? Doe your family has history of high blood pressure? Are both your parents have high blood pressure or their family has?
Stress is another factor that could increase your blood pressure. Physical and emotional stress has direct relation in doing this. You may want to avoid for the meantime any fast foods, fatty foods of all sort and low sodium intake. This would help momentarily but I STRONGLY suggest that you should check your blood pressure with those guidelines I have said above starting today or the soonest possible time. And the next thing you do is to get an appointment with your doctor. S/he is the only person that could give you some medications if ever you need one but getting a detailed medical information regarding your lifestyle is very important and your doctor is the only one who could get that and give you further advice for whatever modifications you need to have or to do.
A bland diet is helpful for you right now and knowing the cause of your high blood pressure could do some good thing.

Well, if your stress is myLot issues then that I have many things to tell you on how to earn and maximize your potential to reach minimum each month. If you have followed my story, I reach minimum for 3 straight months already and this month would be my fourth since I am less than $3 away from minimum. But let's take that issue in another part and let me concentrate with your health problem first.
Anyway, if you just have it now or just in a certain day, I would say that it is just nothing but I don't want to ignore the fact that you have family history of it and that is why it is appropriate to have your blood pressure be checked in 5 straight days. And if I'm going to base with the blood pressure you have given here, I would say that the systole (or the upper number) is at the border line already but looking at the diastole (lower number) it is well within the normal limits. And I was actually thinking of something else aside from high blood pressure. Thus it is also important to know about your pulse rate at that time. Another thing is how many minutes did you take for rest before someone get your blood pressure? Was the device used was the manual type or the digital one?
Ok, I just have bombarded you with lots of questions again but actually a relevant question and significant one when you try to consider and check and if you would like to get your real blood pressure. Those things I mentioned are factors that would affect the reading of your blood pressure.
I took this seriously because I am trying to be a safety advocate specially when it comes to heath matters. I have seen a lot of this cases in my 12 years (and counting) of experience and it is just wise not to ignore those signs and symptoms and I learned that denial holds no place in health issues.

Do you usually eat fatty and salty foods? maybe your stressed right now or when they took your blood pressure you were doing something strenuous.. these things can contribute to having high blood pressure. The best way is to minimize your intake of salty and fatty foods. drink a lot of water. Eat healthy.. eating garlic can help in lowering your blood pressure also, if you feel stressed, try to relax.. do deep breathing exercises or try to imagine that your in a peaceful place.. this i think can help..

Hypertension or high blood pressure can also be inherited.. maybe your family really has high blood pressure.. if symptoms still persist, try going to your doctor for a check up, it's better to prevent any complication than to find a cure later on when serious complications arise..

My husband is overweight and has high blood pressure. we were advised by the doctor that he should loose weight and have a low sodium diet. cutting salt did help and when he eventually lost weight that did impact the blood pressure too. unfortunately he is one of lifes yo yo's with weight and has now put it on again. he also suffers with headaches when he gets stressed which i do think are directly linked to his blood pressure. try cutting salt see if that helps.

any kind of salt is a no-no but if you have to have it use sea-salt. if you want to try a home remedy you can take a table spoon of apple cider vinegar.if you can't handle swallowing the vinegar with a spoon make a small salad and mix it with olive oil.

Low sodium food works best... Any kind, whatever you may consume.. Also, when seasoning your foods use, Lite Salt and anything that has no MSG.. Try to stay away from sausages, hot dogs and what not.. These increases your Blood Pressure, from the sodium that these foods contain..

Yes, your health is very important.. Eating these foods is fine just as long as they are done in moderation. But for someone that has High Blood Pressure, seriously, then it would be wise to at least sustain from eating them. That is what I would do.. I have never had High Blood Pressure in my life, I hope to never get it either.. But with the few problems that I may have had, it makes me feel unhealthy. But, I know that I am not unhealthy.. Take care of yourself..

I am sorry to hear that you have had serious headaches for the past few days and I know headaches are never fun,and they can be a real pain in the butt to deal with, even minor headaches can be a pain, and I am sorry to hear that your blood pressure is so high, and I know that that is also not very fun,and both my parents have high blood pressure, and they both have to take medicine for it,so I knew that meant I had a good chance of having high blood pressure myself one day,and I did but my mom hoped that as I got older it would go down so I would not have to take blood pressure medicine, but a couple years ago my doctor put me on blood pressure medicine which since I can not swallow a pill I have to use my moms pill crusher to crush it up,so I can take it in a cup of water, just so I can get the pill down to help with my blood pressure,I am not sure exactly what to do to lower your blood pressure but I would suggest eating low sodium foods because they are supposed to help,I would also suggest trying to find ways to keep relaxed, when you get stressed, because stress can cause blood pressure to go up,and I would also say try to exercise everyday because that is supposed to help as well, and you might want to make an appointment to see your doctor, because they might have some suggestions, and if your blood pressure stays too high they might give you medicine which is not the best thing, but it does help, and my medicine helps my blood pressure stay lower,so I am very thankful for the medicine and the doctor for giving prescribing it to me,even though I can not stand taking it.

hi sweetaryna! believe it or not, when i was still 24 years old, i had a nasty headache and nausea for like 4 days. my mom took my blood pressure (she's a physician) and she was horrified to see that my BP was 140/110! it lasted for three more days until it returned to 110/70.
in my case, the triggers were stress from work (i used to work as a bank teller in a high-client-volume branch), excessive smoking and drinking (due to stress) and lack of sleep (i usually have 3-5 hours of sleep daily, even on weekends). in just 8 months, the high blood pressure kicked in.
fortunately, my medication is just limited to Aldazide. the high blood pressure occasionally shot back to 140/110 again when i'm stressed, especially now that i'm in a new company (with worse working conditions). annoying and incompetent people make me so mad that i am always rushed to the clinic because of my 140/90, 140/100 or 140/110 blood pressure. and i'm just 26 right now!
i also have a mild AV block (a heart problem) due to stress, so this time, my mom is monitoring my health. but no medications yet other than aldazide. she also grounded me until i stopped smoking and drinking. she's also planning to send me to an anger management therapist.
darn stress...

Well, sometimes its unavoidable that we feel depressed for the day..but for the health its not a good side,i believe in meditation, its will balance all disorders of body and mind.
