well in my country .. the breaking news does not depend on the actual magnitude of the news, as much as it depends on which channel ur watching..lol! there are so many channels aiming to earn money, they show almost anything as the breaking news. i've even stopped viewing tv news channels, as all they show is a gross bundle of cheap and senseless information, which they like to call as news. moreover, breaking news is something they've made as a daily habit.. anything at 6 pm is breaking news, be it the gender change of some person, or the sickness of a famous celebrity.
