We have ham at Christmas. We have turkey on Thanksgiving, which is only a month before Christmas, so we get ham for a change of pace. We will do ham a couple times a year, but not often.

I don't know what my family will be having for Christmas dinner. Last year it was chicken. But we went to my grandmother's house last year for Christmas Eve, and she did have ham there. She also had some turkey. I guess she had both so we could have a wider variety to choose from.

Have you ever tried Rock Cornish Game Hens for holidays?
They are a small fowl that are juicy and taste great.
Small so one for each person is sufficient as well.
I've done that a couple years but not recently.
They are cooked just like a turkey also.

We have ham every Christmas here in the US. It is part of christmas tradition for most people. I can't do Christmas without my ham. We will be saving our pennies to get our ham because everything is expensive now days. But especially meat.

Saving pennies everyday for a ham is a great idea and by the time you need to buy a ham on Christmas Eve you no longer worried in paying it coz you already saved one ahead of time. thanks for sharing...

I am from the United States and my family has always had turkey for Christmas. We have it for Christmas and Thanksgiving those are the only two times in a year that we have turkey. It takes so long to fix and cook a turkey I am glad we only have it twice a year.

Ham is always present in our table during Christmas eve. Hopefully, we'll still have one this coming Christmas eve because it will not be complete without a ham. Yeah, I agree. It is very expensive. We haven't bought any ham for the past 7 years because it is a give-away in the company that I previously worked with. Now that I left my job and not expecting to have a free one, I think I should still buy one for my family to share on Christmas eve.

Ham and Turkey at my daughters this Thanksgiving Day & Christmas.
A few stores here have a deal where you buy a ham and get the turkey free.
All foods have raised in cost drastically due to the high cost for transportation now days. We will be getting a ham and turkey this year.
This weekend in fact I think.

I do love ham and I will be hosting the family christmas dinner this year so we will be having ham and maybe a turkey with it. I think there may be 20-25 people here for dinner.

Well, definitely, there will be food on our tables during Christmas day. I am planning to have spaghetti, cookies, fruits (and fruit salad), and perhaps some rice and some dishes to be paired with rice. Probably we will have ham.

We always have a turkey and a ham for Christmas, I'm not sure why but we have a Turkey at Thanksgiving and both at Christmas. Back when my Dad and Grandmother were alive we always had lots of family for Christmas since they have passed we still have both just smaller versions of each. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas season!

Yeah I have seen that it quite expensive this year and I have gotten one for thanksgiving as well as a turkey. I will possibly getting one for Christmas as well. It will just mean that we will have to make the ham last a few days and so it doesn't make us half to cut corners the end of the month with food.

We do not understand why people have Turkey only at Thanksgiving, lamb at Easter, Corned Beef for St. Pats day, etc. We buy what looks good and is on sale and are happy to eat that. Nok, we don't feel that we have to be eating the same thing that everyone else is eating just because it is a holiday. We like pumpkin pie all year round, too.

We normally have ham for the meat at Christmas dinner. I have not really looked at the price of a whole ham lately. I don't normally buy a whole ham. I normally just get the deli ham the rest of the year.
Ok, I did a little online research at some local stores websites and it looks like ham is between $1.99 and $3.49 a pound depending on what brand you buy.

Hi amzthienne! Christmas! I just bought my turkey today for
Thanksgiving! We celebrate that here first! It is in 2 weeks.
It is on November 27th. That is our first big holiday that
we celebrate before Christmas. I don't like ham much anymore
so I don't think that will be on my table for Christmas dinner.
I am thinking that I might make a lasagna instead! And I might
invite some friends over I'm not sure who will be around. It's
way too soon for me to be thinking about Christmas dinner yet.
I bought a 20 pound turkey so I will have to deal with that
for awhile before I can think about the next holiday!
