I have the Norton system and have been using it ever since my last PC got infected. So far it is doing a great job. I really don't know hoe the other systems work, but I have a lot of friends who use the McAfee. I guess you have to enable the system and try it because you paid for it. LOL

I use Avast Antivirus Free Edition. I love it! It does the job, warns you when it
should and doesn't suck up too much space. An added adition is you don't have to pay
for it - yet you still get just as much as something like Norton or McAfee. It also
was reviewed by Consumer Reports and is rated as a great, free program worth getting.
So if your looking for a free, nice anti-virus get Avast Free Edition!

I almost try every kind of antivirus like avg, nod, mcafee, norton, trend macro etc...but i believed it's avast who process excellent performance to detect and removed antivirus. Avast always do remind everytime it can detect virus thru to pop audio like "the virus has been detected please remove the file"

so far my avast free edition hasn't failed me yet and my second option is avg. norton av is not my type since i find it very slow and makes my windows load quite slow. in my windows 2003 server, i use F-secure server.
no i don't disable my antivirus after installing it, that's whay i put antivirus to protect my pc for possible virus infection. what's the point if you install it then disable it after install?
