The Bible does not not mention abortion but it does say that it is wrong to kill a person. It talks about innocent people and not taking advantage of them. It uses the word 'baby' for both one in the mother's womb and one born into the world. It does not agree with killing infants so it would not support leaving live aborted babies to die. I do not think the Bible allows life to be stopped.

It also suggests that a child has no soul until it is born. Therefore, an aborted fetus would not be a child, biblically.

but it may lead to a soul. That is by abortion we are denying that soul to be alive. is that good or is that allowed by Bible

the bible doesn't really mention anything about abortion, but it does speak clearly against taking away life. and the fact that the language of the Bible makes do distinction between the born and the unborn means that they are treated in the same manner, that is, as persons who have dignity. the question then becomes, at which point does life come to be? when does conception occur? is it at the time of fertilization or when the fertilized egg has implanted itself in the womb and starts to develop? if it starts at the moment of fertilization, does contraception then become a sin?

I always read this as, if it was done by accident, but on closer review and a newer translation than the "king's englishe": Verse 22 "If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide (verse 23) but if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life."

I think the question would have to be: biblically, when does life begin. If a being has no soul, is it considered a life. The soul is not breathed into a body until birth. Therefore, is aborting a fetus, really the destruction of life.

may i know what's your basis for saying that the "soul is not breathed into the body until birth?" if we look at the Biblical texts, the fact that the same word is used to describe both the born and unborn seems to imply that language of the Bible does not differentiate between the two. Otherwise, if the unborn baby had no soul, then why would the Bible give it the same treatment as a baby or child after birth?

The bible says if a person hits a woman and she loses the babe, they have murdered. Logic tells me we should have no rights to terminate any lives. Any one of us, if terminated before birth would not be here now.

...that's why I'm always amazed when people say terminating a babe doesn't take a life..

I would also like to add that according to the Mosaic law, as stated in Exodus 21:22-25, if in a fracas between a men and a pregnant woman suffered an accident fatal to her or her child then that person had to pay "soul for soul". Therefore, if God didn't consider the "foetus" to be a life - a soul- why would he have stated this in the law? God gave us the gift of life and we have no right to decide about it. He didn't give us that right.

"would not be here now." Wow. You're a master of the obvious aren't you?
