I had a friend that recently told me that he heard, if you put in a dip (tobacco) before you blow a breatherlizer, it will cause you to blow 0 even if you have consumed alcohol? Has anyone ever heard of such? Is this true?

it's not true. and why would you want to put your life and others at risk, by trying to drive over the limit?

i didn't ask if it worked so i could go out and drive drunk.. if you read the ? again, you'll see that my intention never was to try it out. if i was gonna try it out, then i could get my answer that way, rather than asking.. i was just wondering if anyone else had ever heard that..

No, it's not true. There are many things which have been said to fool a breathalyser but none that are known to work. http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/breath.asp

I wonder if a chemist could invent something to fool the breathalizer. I guess it depends on how the thing works.
