Have you ever sat down and sorted out your email, creating seperate folders for all of your stuff? I just did and man I tell you what my eyes are bugging out!!
Anyone else ever sit down and take the time to sort their email? How long did it take you and do you think it is easier to find everything once you did sort it out?

I was getting so much stuff I had no choice at this point! Esp since I have to be away from the pc for a couple of days at a time sometimes. I usually get about 1000 or so spam emails a day not to mention the ones that end up in my inbox!! I would go crazy if I had to just let it all go!!

I don't let me email accumulate too much or else I'll be spending forever trying to sort them out. I don't let it get beyond 2 pages, and when it starts to, then I start sorting and storing or deleting.

That has happened to me also. Several times i needed to take a break from the Internet altogether. When I came back a few days later I had several pages of email and that took forever for me to clear. I've also joined several survey sites so trying to get through those were a headache lol

I always wanted to sort my emails, as there are more than thousands, and many are still remain unread. But, I don't think I'll be able to complete the sorting within 2 hours, there are many junk mails, subscriptions and also some emails forwarded from my friends. I plan to spend some time to do part of them slowly. It's definitely easier to find anything if the emails have been sorted nicely. ^_^

I must say that i never waited for my imbox to get too full - i only have about 200 emails in it or so. I have an individual folder for all paypal transactions (received and paid) but all the others i just keep in one place and that's my imbox.

Hey erilyn! Yup! I did that a long time ago! Now every now
and then I have to go through the folders to delete what I
put in them! The one that gets full is the mylot one! I don't
save everything, just the emails or responses that are special
or really funny or meaningful! Anway, it does get too full!
The other ones I take a look at now and then and do whatever
to! Right now I have 75 emails in my account from mylot to
answer! That is because I wasn't really active yesterday! I
was out and when I got home I just was to tired and not in the
mood to do my usually responding. So now I am trying to go
through them and see what I can do to make up for yesterday!
If I don't finish them by tonight I will finish the rest
tomorrow. I don't like to get too far behind.

I created folders for my emails a long time ago. For new email addresses I created folders for expected types of email. These folders are not permanent and I have deleted several which have become redundant.
The folders were created to make life easier for me in dealing with emails as you have also found out.

I did that once and spent almost as much time as you sorting the emails but once I was done .. the next emails were easier to sort since there's a system in place ... so it was worth it .. haha .. congrats

Ho yeah... Definately because I want my stuff to be organized. I don't just do this for e-mail I do this for mostly any file or whatever needs to be sorted out. Approximate time for sorting is usually 15min - 3 hours. Depending on how big of a mess it is.
