right away?
I have this habit of washing the clothes first, especially underwears before wearing. I dont feel comfortable wearing new clothes right away. My husband, didnt care so much about the washing when we were still engaged. Then when we got married,he took my habit. My children too doesnt wear new clothes right away. They know I will have the new clothes washed first.
Although there are instances that we could not avoid to wear "just" bought clothes right away, like the school or the office announced the wearing of a specific color on the last minute...but as much as possible I wash them first, its kinda itchy.
How about you?please share.tnx

I try my best to wash the clothes I just bought so I can wear them once I plan to ... but there were times when I can't help being too excited to wear a certain outfit if I specifically bought it for an occasion the following day

yes,if an occasion is due very soon,we ran out of time to wash it. I even pester dry cleaners to accept my newly bought clothes to be worn the next day but they charge double or triple,so I end up wearing unwashed clothes.tnx for sharing nats

I wash anything I buy before wearing it. You never know whether somebody has tried it on before you. Once when I was shopping, I saw a gal checking out a bikini in the dressing room common mirror. You could tell she didn't keep her underclothing on (like the sign specifically said in big print). I sure wouldn't want to buy something like that without washing it first!! The truth is there are those kinds of people who don't care, and that is why I prefer to wash it all first. I know one friend who freaked out because she had on new jeans and her legs turned all blue dye because it was raining and her legs got soaked lol. After that she decided it was worth it to wash the jeans before wearing them. I always figure it's better to be safe and know that what I'm wearing is clean when I put it on.

I know I should wash the clothes before I wear it. But usually I do not wash it before, because I forget or I want to take that clothes out at the same day i bought it. I have never had any health problems because of that. But in the future I try to wash new clothes before I take it out.

you must be very fond with the Adidas product. When my son was younger and I got to choose his clothes and shoes...I only got Adidas and NIke. It would save me from deciding what to buy and thus shorten my time in malls. but now that he is 16 and 6'1" tall, and starting to become conscious of his clothes,he gets to decide. Better because he opts for a local, cheaper brand. tns for sharing

I wash them first before wearing. I don't know what kind of chemicals or whatever may be on them. I prefer to get all that off before wearing them.

It depends. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Items that are prepackaged that people can't get ahold of I really don't have issues with wearing first and washing later. Sometimes I like to wash my jeans first, other times I don't care. Shirts though bug me and I like washing them first. It's just easier and you don't get that store smell with shirts when washed.

I honestly don't. I rarely buy clothes anyway. So maybe that's why it doesn't occur to me to wash them right away. I definitely understand this notion because other people may have already tried it on. I've heard about cases where lots of stuff was found on clothes, lol. And including lice. That's pretty sick.

THAT IS VERY TRUE!
When we were on a vacation last sembreak...OMG! I saw a louse on my blouse after trying clothes. I panicked! My children were saying I was over acting. I had to have my hair checked. I then felt itchiness in my scalp...maybe it was just psychological seeing that louse on my blouse....well they rhyme...LOL,gross!

Hi! Well I don't know if new clothes are itchy cause I don't wear them until they are washed. I have the feeling that its dirty cause a lot have touched it in the mall and some might have fitted it on. Besides, new clothes have just come out of the factories and they are stored in boxes so no matter how clean they look, I think they're still dirty. I also don't like the smell of new clothes and some clothing material are still rough when its new.
Ciao!

Oh, I so can't imagine NOT washing them before wearing them. To think about all the people that possibly could have tried them on before I bought them gives me the willies! PLUS, the dyes and chemicals that are on them, I'm sure are not good for our skin.

i have never done that. i never wash clothes that i buy new. do not know why it never occurred to me one way or the other. i do wash anything i get that are hand me downs though even if the person tells me they have already been washed. not that it is the same subject but even if i send food home with one of my relatives after a family get together in a tupperware container and they give it back washed and cleaned i still put it through my dishwasher. i guess i just get grossed out not knowing if things are really clean or not. but now that you have brought this up about washing even new clothes you have a point because they have most likely been tried on by others and goodness knows how long they are sitting in a warehouse or store so they could most likely use some freshening.

Hi ,
When i was younger i would just wear them . But now i dont like the new /store smell they have and will wash them . Washing them makes them smell fresh and i notice makes them softer too there has been times i will buy a tee and just wear it tho !

Nope. I dont. I will wash it after i wore it. I had an expereince before that I washed the newly bought dress before . The dress shrunk and the color went off. I didnt have even have the chance to wear it and can't return to the store anymore since it was already washed.
