Dinner in front of the television

I don't think it is a good habit to have dinner in front of the television. I once had read a book which was told that when you are eating do not talk or watch tv.It was bad for your digiest. I have to say eating food while watching tv do have more pleare.but concern of your health ,you have to change a little.

When we lived on the farm, I made sure that we ate dinner together in the dining room. I now live in a small house, which consists of 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms en suite, one very large room that has the kitchen at one end then an area for the dining room furniture and then a sitting area with sofas ets. I built on a small extension to this which has sofas and chairs. This is my sun room as the walls ar only built up so far and then there are awnings to let down at night. The rest of the space is grilled for security but it is lovely as the breeze can enter the house. This is where we keep the twins' toys. so if the tv is on then we eat with it on. I always have it on if I am eating alone but the twins sit at the coffee table with their own little chairs to eat. However, if I am entertaining or eating with family then the TV is a definite No NO! I am a stickler for dining correctly and only use paper plates if we have a hurricane! The water soon departs if we have a heavy storm or a hurricane. I like place mats, linen napkins, china and glasses. So I'm old fashoioned? That's okay! Now How did I get into this when all you asked was a simple question?

me and my parents sit out in the living room and watch t.v sometimes but you can also see the t.v from the dinning room... so we can still watch t.v even from there and it is on when we do sit in there... we actually eat like that a lot too... we don't ever really sit down and eat as a family without the t.v in less its like a holiday of some kind and we like other family over or something like that

i'm alone & have a small tv in the kitchen. i eat every meal w/the tv on & my book i'm reading.

My husband and I do this all of the time. The TV is on and my husband has his dinner, and I usually eat in front of my computer. I do not have a sit in kitchen, which is strange, but my kitchen is made in such a way that a table and chairs would be awkward.

We used to eat dinner in front of the television all the time but now that my daughter is almost 3, we only eat at the dinner table. I like it a lot better. Happy MyLotting!

I hate to say this...but my family eats in front of the television all the time. Except for me. Since my husband does it (no amount of telling him that we need to sit down together works), my kids have followed suit. I wouldn't mind t if it was once in a while (like you did) but this is a daily affair for us...and we all eat at different times (which makes me really mad). I usually sit at the table even when I am alone....it's very rare to catch me eat in front of the television unless there's something I really do not want to miss.

I do alot of the time when I am here by myself. If I am with my husband I usually don't eat with the TV on but it is something that I think that I must really do if I want to be by myself, because I don't like silence when I am eating by myself.

Sometimes if we are planning a movie night with pizza we will eat it in front of the TV, but it doesn't happen often. Usually we wait until after dinner before watching the movie.

honestly, i just finished eating my dinner in the sala while watching television. i was the only one left who have not eaten dinner and its so boring if i ate alone at the table so big without anyone to talk to.
