Cricket is becoming global. I am sure in few years it will be a gloabl sport. The Game is now in every country of the world from Europe to China. Sponosor are coming and TV pay right dor the matches. It will be the sport of the future even if it is an old sport!

With reference to cricket and the Olympics, it was included in 1900, only 2 teams took part, a British one and a French one (comprising of members of the British Embassy).
Britain won the gold, no surprise there then, although it wasn't officially recognised until 1912.

Thanks. This is really a good contribute to the discussion. Yes I know about that and I think can be a problem to be again in the Olympics. Cricket is a team game and Olympics are really big now, and they prefer sports with less players.

Yes I agree with you. At the moment is not a global sport but it will be in a few years. There are lot of players, people that love and watch it. In Europe is going well... but obviously without the Olimpyc Games can be a problem.

cricket is not global.but it is going global now.with tournaments in neutral venues ,gricket is getting publicity beyond any other mean.
people on the other hand ,seems more interesting in short games like soccer, tennis ,f1 and so.coz they give more excitement level for sports.

i think cricket isn't that popular, if it wants to be at the same level as basketball & soccer & ... it has to go a long long way

How many people play cricket in the world? and how many soccer, basketball or volleyball?
How many people watch cricket (at the stadium or in tv) in the world? and how many soccer, basketball or volleyball?
Which one is the difference between cricket and the others?

no , cricket isnt a global sport like soccer, basketall or any other sport and also since it is a very time taking sport which minimum lasts for a day whereas other sports just last for hours therefore it is quite difficult to introduce this sport into the olympics.
