do you always buy the original Cd ?

hmm, sad to say, people here bought the piracy one
including me .. i only buy original cd when i consider it's really worth buying
mostly i bought audiophile CDs, and some CD from new pop indie singers like Colbie Caillat, Marie Digby, etc
the rest, i bought the piracy CDs .. hehee
i know it's bad, but i have no idea about some singers
first i bought the piracy one, and when i like the singer,
i'll get the original one
mostly people didn't buy the original one
you can find the piracies easily everywhere
i feel bad for buying the piracies too, but nothing much to do
the original CD is quite pricy, and my wallet is more friendly with the piracies
;P
how about you out there ?
does such piracy works as a common thing in your country ?

It is a common thing in my place. To answer your topic, I rarely buy original CD's. I just borrow some from friends and officemates. Sometimes I copy them to my computer and have them played over and over until I do not feel the excitement of listening to them anymore. Though piracy is illegal, the pirated products' cheap prices really attracts us to buy them. Plus their quality has improved than before so we find it quite practical to buy pirated items.

Hi,
Yes, I always buys the original Cd as the best quality its offer. I didn't like the pirated version as its quality is reduced noticeably. May be it was my sensitive ears that makes me feels unsatisfied with pirated version of it.
Piracy in my country is hard to burn down... Our police department have working hard on piracy but it was like cutting a lawn with barely scissors. Sucks! I hope our police department open their hand to foreign police department who have success in minimize piracy.

I used to buy pirated CD, but their quality isn't really that good, that's why I don't buy them anymore. When I really want one, I buy the original one. Aside from helping the industry, you're getting value for your money. Besides, lately there are lots of original CD on sale here.
I don't have anything against buying a pirated one, but like what they always say, "You only get what you are willing to pay for"

like when I said in my last post about movies, my hubby is a movie addict and if he wants to watch new releases movies we often buy the pirated cd's and dvd's. Why?
Because the movies pass is much expensive than the pirated cd's/ dvd's, the quality is good too! ( clear and dvd copy)and we can collect those quality copy of the certain movies in a cheaper price. So sorry guys, i know it's not good to support the piracy but the people is always belong to the cheaper price that the expensive one especially now a days.

yeah it's right, the cost of a movie ticket is equal to 4 or 5 pirated DVDs
hehehe.. but lucky you, the quality of a pirated DVD here is very very bad
well not always that bad, but most of the pirated DVD here is hard to watch
sometimes the movie suddenly stopped while playing

I am from UK and piracy is a big thing over here too. We buy cds and dvds and they are actually excellent copies. I do like to buy the original though when it is something that I really like and know that I will listen to or watch a lot. I also like to have the original so that I can sell it on if I want too with a copy I cannot do that.

If it is a good one i would consider buying... but in most cases i dont... i will just ask one of my friend to send it via blue tooth if it is a sound track.Now a days, in this world of digital technology everything is pirated.If i go for buying a original CD,the same will be available in the market (duplicate) for half the price.So many of them are not interested in buying the original one for huge.
Just wondering why every go for illegal????

i also realize it's wrong,
but one of the responder of this discussion wrote something
if the reason is about our financial condition,

I am not used to buying music cds but my husband is. He buys the original ones most of the time because he wants to have quality sound of music. Although some pirated cds have good sound, the original ones are still better.
When it comes to video or movie cds, we buy pirated ones since it is more practical.

To be frank i myself don't buy original Cd's,i feel the main reason for me preferring pirated Cd's is that the originals rely take a heavy toll on my wallet and also another reason is here in my country the most popular albums are released simultaneously hence most times i cant afford to buy each and every album which are released so i usually go with for original ones which i rely admire and hence for the ones which ease less interest out of me i go for the pirated versions.......

When the cd is worth it, I'd buy it. It's the only way to support the artist for real. If everyone pirates then the artist won't sell and might be out of business in no time. I understand that people still download music though then just buying the original in store. But I think most people who are fan of a music artist purchase their cd in a store.

and when he like the songs and the singer, he'll get the original CD
i think he was collecting CDs from several artists he liked .. :D
when i came to his house, wow, it's like a music store.. LoL
i can find lots of CDs there

before i have no idea that the artists got their income from the concert tours

I would never buy a pirate cd but i do download a few tracks for personal use on my computer. i dj and play vinyl so i have to pay for all them but i see them as something i'll keep forever and its nice to have the original copy if its music that means alot to you as they will hold alot of memorys!

I seldom buy CD now but when I did last time, I always try to look for a pirated version Like you, unless I feel it is worth buying, I will buy and if not, I prefer to have a pirated CD. Unfortunately, sometimes it is not as good as the original. I feel bad to help those people earn illegally by buying the pirated CDs but they are much more cheaper compare to the original ones.

I download music simply because I'm not willing to cash out $800 (an estimate of the amount my library equals to) for a bunch of songs. Piracy is illegal, yes, but here in the UAE, everybody owns pirated movies. They're as common as the originals!
Downloading is so much easier and much more financially... appealing. xD I only own a few CD's and they were all gifts. =P

huh.. they only put on sale for a really really old musics
i once found a boyzone CD on sale
well remembering the first time i heard their music was when i was still on the elementary school

piracy is friendly with every ones wallet. i do buy cds nowadays not the musc cds but the movie cds because its difficult to get pirated movies with 5.1 or 7.1 audio track. when it come to music , idont buy cds . i usually downlaod it from www.songs.pk. i know downlaoding a pirated content is a bad habit but i dony have no other choice
