Who has lost their sister?

I just thought I would open up a discussion for anyone who has had a sister that died.
My sister died 6 years ago in a car accident. I was 17 and she was only 22. Her car and another car hit head on on a highway and she died on the scene of the accident. It happened the day before my first day of my senior year of high school. It seems like it took forever for reality to actually set in that I would never get to see or talk to her again. It was very hard for me to talk to anyone about it for a very long time. Even though it's been 6 years, I can still get just as emotional about it all now as I did the day it happened.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Why do you think things like this happen? People don't deserve to die so young. Why did it happen to her and not to me? There's still so much confusion I have with this.

No i haven't lost a sister but my heart goes out to you. I only have one sister and if anything were to happen to her i will probably be in the same situation as you. In times of loss we tend to ask ourselves lots of question, we want reasons why it happened so as to make us feel better. But no matter how hard we try and how long after it may seems we just will never get over such loss. Like i said, i haven't loss a sister but i've lost a very dear one and i know the feeling.

Thank you for the response. I know I will always have questions as to why this happened to my sister and to our family, but even if I did have answers, it wouldn't bring her back. You're very fortunate that you still have your sister with you. Cherish every moment for what it's worth.
