Three people get a hotel room together. The room is $30. After paying the worker notices the room was discounted. It is only $25. He hands each person a dollar back and keeps $2 for a tip. When they get to the room one of them notices that they have each paid $9 3x9=27 Plus they gave that guy a $2 tip. 27+2=29 He can't help but wonder... where'd the other dollar go?

I cheated and looke it up. heres your answer Answer to The Missing Dollar The answer is in the way the question is worded. You cannot add what one person HAS to what someone else has PAID and come up with any kind of a meaningful number, you have to subtract. Each man has paid $9. The bellhop has $2. Difference $9 x 3 = $27 2 $25 The hotel clerk has the other 25 dollars. To look at it from the standpoint of the original $30. Each man has $1. The bellhop has $2. The hotel clerk has $25. Total $1 x 3 = $3 2 25 $30

If anyone still needs help with this, I will explain it for you. Why oh why did you have to cheat so soon? I once pondered on a problem... only occasionally, for about 4 years before cheating. Don't worry I will be posting that one soon too! I really hate cheating at problems! It doesn;t bother me if others do... I just really really like to SOLVE them!!! I'm just really determined! HA!

HA... well when you go see the new Bond movie... just know that the girl doesn't really die. She later comes back and has a mask on that makes her look like a man. She tries to trick Bond but says something that he pics up on... and he shoots her! Everyone around thinks that he shot the 'nice' guy, but it was really the evil chick!

Lmao, Donny. I'm still having trouble with it. I mean, I understand that you're taking 5 away from the 30 which leaves the hotel clerk with 25, and you divvy the 5 amongst the patrons and the bellhop, but that still leaves the customers paying 27 bucks apiece. Lol, I don't get it. Sorry guys...I'm a little slow, apparently.
