I'm just saying two people, no kids. One cooks shouldn't it be fair that the other cleans?

Yes, i do think so. If i cook, normally my husband does the cleaning work. But he is always the one who cleans the things. :-) I make the other work.

Not necessarily. If one works and one doesn't, then the one that works shouldn't be expected to clean too. I do think that if there are just two people, they both should do the dishes together after the dinner. If they both work, then they should share the responsiblilities of cooking and cleaning.

wouldn't it be more fun for you both to help w/each chore?, no sense in fighting over something as trivial as that. be glad u have each other.

Not necessarily. Depends on what works for your relationship. Alot of people get into the whole "equal" or "fair" thing but I don't necessarily get into that. Every situation is different.

well my dad doesn't cook that much but there's just me, my dad, and my sister. if i cook i think its fair for my sister to clean but she doesn't always see it that way. i think that is fair because it just seems like the right thing. if one person cooked for 2 people the other person should clean, not one person do both. that's my opinion.

Well there are a lot of conditions involved in an answer to that. If both people work, they should both take part in the every day household duties. Whatever works for you best, work together on something or divvie up responsibilities or rotate them or however. It must work for the individual couple without causing a lot of strife.

Yup, he tried - but he made such a mess when washing up, like getting the area round the sink and floor wet, that I had more work to do. So I would rather do the washing up myself.

I don't expect my husband to clean. He has a job and I don't so I consider this my job. We eat just before he goes to work so he doesn't really have time to clean anyways. He does however, take his plate to the sink and help me clean off the table if he has time.

I think so. It shows appreciation for the cook.
