I am thinking of finally starting that book I have always wanted to write. I currently write articles online and generate a decent income that way, but I still can't afford to have my book published by a big name company. I was wondering if anybody had any information on self publishing online or any sites with really good deals. If you do, can you please let me know? I would be grateful. Thanks.

Check out WeBook. It allows you to post chapters, short stories, poetry, etc. and get feed back from other writers/members. They have a publishing section, I just haven't checked it out. Look me up there, I'm cowgirlheart. I'd love to read your stuff!

I recently had my first novel published with Createspace. Createspace is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. One of the big advantages of using them is that you are guaranteed a page on Amazon.com for your novel. There is no up-front fee for publishing your novel and you can set the price that suits you. The only cost at all is that once the book is set and the cover produced, they ask that you order one proof copy so that you can give final approval for the novel and make sure there are no errors in it. This cost varies according to the length of your novel. My novel was 334 pages and my proof copy cost me $4.85 plus shipping. I highly recommend Createspace, they are very easy to use!
